Great news out of New Jersey today. The slaughter of horses for human consumption, as well as the sale and transport of horse meat or live horses for human consumption is now banned in the state of New Jersey. Happy Friday people! More tomorrow…..

WHOOO HOO!
Just saw this too, it’s great news! The voice of the people is being heard.
Very Happy as a NJ resident! The Horse is Our State Animal and deserves this protective law, Not only in Nj but all other states as well….I think there is a total of 5 states with bans on the state level currently..I hope other states follow suit ! Guess Slaughter house Sue’s “Call to action” she sent out calling for the pro’s to hassle Christie and demand He veto the bill, did not impress Him…as a matter of fact it annoyed so many residents not only did it increase support for the bill from current residents..but former residents that at some point are likely to return to Nj in the future also contacted the Gov. to express support of this bill becoming law. : )
Amazing how they seem to be doing our anti-work for us, huh? LOL
lol..yup, pretty much every time they open their mouths!
I love how epic the butthurt is over that. Heh heh heh
Awesome
A great start but remember breeders etc can claim they sold the horse out of state and more likely to a PSA idiot. Now to find ways to enforce it!
I guess some will slip through the cracks on the above but at least they can change their horse theft laws to match the new law.
I wonder how this will affect the Camelot, NJ horse auction? Will the kill buyers be banned from the sale?
How is this going to affect Bravo Packing in New Jersey? They slaughter horses!!! Does anyone know if this will shut them down????? PLEASE LET IT BE SO?????
Shelly I would say so since it is now illegal. They may go to cow only.
