Ok, I know I’ve deviated from our regular pattern of posts since I got back after Christmas. Like I said, it’s a busy time of year for me and I needed a break from the daily ignorance of our slaughterphile buddies. We’ve also had more important things to discuss and pay attention to and I just haven’t bothered to take the time to recap everything they have been up to. For those of you that were worried, I have not mellowed in the least. However, as you are all aware, ignorance never sleeps and slaugherphiles are no exception to that rule. So, even though it’s not Friday and we haven’t done it for a while, for old time’s sake, let’s get out our fingers for a very special Wednesday edition of Point and Laugh Friday. This edition is brought to you by the letter “S’ for STFU.
As tradition dictates, I think we’ll kick things off with the ever annoying and deceptive, Slaughterhouse Sue. As most of you are aware, Suey has had some personal tragedy in her life over the past few months. Out of common human decency, a concept that is foreign to our usual suspects, I elected to cut her some slack. However, nobody ever accused Suey of being dignified and she certainly hasn’t allowed her troubles to slow her quest to save all equines by slaughtering them. It also has not brought about an epiphany and inspired her to tell the truth. I know most of you thought I probably wouldn’t go `there’, but guess what? I am. Let’s look at a little article of lies that Suey is quite proud of. (http://trib.com/news/state-and-regional/wyoming-legislator-returns-to-work-because-she-believes-her-late/article_0884c043-8939-562d-82b8-5a5942d1221e.html) Ok, I’m going to set aside the obvious tragic element to this story and cut straight to the lies about slaughter this article contains; no doubt supplied by Slaughterhouse Sue, herself.
“But Wallis and McQueary thought that slaughtering horses for meat was humane treatment for old horses whose owners otherwise sometimes abused them or turned them out to starve. The possibility of selling old horses to slaughterhouses could mean they are valuable and are treated better. She is an executive of a company that’s looking to build slaughterhouses.”
That paints a warm fuzzy picture if you are completely oblivious to the meat industry, doesn’t it? Since when do meat buyers prefer `old’ horses? Last time I checked, it’s the young and healthy animals that are preferred for slaughter for human consumption. I guess none of those meaty Haflinger and Belgian horses her brother breeds would have anything to do with her salivating at the mouth to bring back slaughter either. Go to any overnight auction and see how many of both those breeds are currently being run through as slaughter only horses if you have any doubts. I can also show you pictures of a feedlot in Canada full of nothing but sorrel horses with blonde manes and tails if you still have doubts. Coincidence? I wish I could tell you that was the only lie Suey put out lately, but it wasn’t. She resurrected some of her departed husband’s writings on the issue and his recap of their failure of a `Summit’ a few years ago. (http://rodmcqueary.blogspot.ca/)
“What HSUS/PETA did when they closed the horse slaughter plants was to take one fairly responsible and workable solution, and turn it into a plethora of nasty, unsolvable, expensive problems. For the sake of the tribes, their horses, their homelands, and their long-term futures we need to restore the markets for horse meat, and allow them to return to their traditional methods of management. We need to help fix the broken spoke in Arlen Washines’ wobbly wheel.”
So, in the first article it was about helping all the poor starving and old horses have a value and a humane end, but this article says it’s all about helping the tribes and their traditions. I guess like any good comedian, you change up your act depending on your audience, no?
Let’s move onto Suey’s favorite ass barnacles next. For those of you new to the blog, that would be Dave `Douchebag’ Duquette and Holy Theresa Manzella. The holy one is up to her usual schtick of displaying a blatant lack of self-awareness and promoting hatred at any given chance. She is still quoting the bible and bastardizing it to suit her agenda and talking about humanity and compassion as she continues to support horse slaughter, wolf slaughter and whatever else she perceives to be a threat for her to be a redneck ignoramus. The other barnacle, Douchebag Duquette took a little trip to Florida and was seen asking his Facebook buddies if they knew of any good horse farms to visit. I sincerely hope he managed a visit to a few of the bigger ones down there and got an education on how little the lack of slaughter has affected people that are actually successful in the industry. He also found time to make a post on the UH website. Actually, I don’t think he was the writer of the post as it is not laced with profanity and grammatical errors like we have come to expect from him. Likely Puppymill Patterson is ghostwriting for him as she has done in the past. So, what is the latest butthurt for D-bag and his band of morons? It should come as no surprise that they are super pissed off that under the new Horse Protection Act that is being introduced, lawmakers seek to regulate the Tennessee Walking Horse industry, particularly soring and other inhumane practices that have outraged most people with a shred of compassion. (http://www.icontact-archive.com/sRszqmyZGmERhv5PQPZvndHQ__Dir4-I?w=4#.URmvP_eUZ8M) Douchebag Dave refers to it as a `crushing blow to what remains of the US Horse Industry’. Yes, D-bag, however will we go on if we are not allowed to abuse and torture our animals? Pull your dress down and stop being such a drama queen. Remember, PSAs are all about being allowed to do whatever the hell they want with their `property’ even if it flies in the face of basic kindness. Cue banjo music…
Now it’s time to check in with our favorite multiple personality, Mendy Tobiano. Because she bases most of her blog on whatever it is that I write about, she hasn’t had a lot to say lately. I know the fact that my life interferes with my blogging hobby must be frustrating for her, but she has assured us that she is `swamped in research’ and about to pull the penultimate blog entry out of her expansive ass at any time. What that really means is she is waiting for Wikipedia to update on whatever it is that is sticking in her craw lately, because that, to her, is the best place to get facts from. I guess she hopes that mining this blog for ideas might actually get people actually comment and participate over there besides herself and her alternate online personae. Most of what she writes about is splitting hairs and leaping to conclusions that no reasonable person ever would, but her latest shows such an astonishing level of ignorance and lack of reading comprehension, I felt it was finally time to directly address her rambling even though I loathe to. The regular readers here are well aware of the ongoing saga of 3 time convicted animal hoarder and abuser, Dorothy Robertson and the 34 horses she most recently had seized due to neglect. The rescue that ended up taking the horses, NNER (Northeastern Nevada Equine Rescue) has taken a lot of hits and public attacks as a result, despite the fact they were the ONLY ones that showed up in court to make application for those horses. In the past week, they have posted a pleas for donations due to an extremely harsh winter and the high cost of rehabbing the appalling condition Big D’s horses were in when they took possession of them. They estimate that they have spent close to $35,000 bringing these horses back to health and have had very little donations to cover expenses, leaving the head of the rescue to pay out-of-pocket. Nowhere have they stated they are in the hole for that much money or that they can’t feed their horses. hey stated they need more funds to move forward. Apparently, the head of the rescue has run into a health crisis at this time as well. It happens. What they have done right is ask for help BEFORE things have gone downhill. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy request to make, but an entirely legitimate one. They have run a few raffles and fundraisers in an effort to make up some of the cost and that’s legitimate too. That’s what rescues do, they ask for donations. But, since Mendy Tobiano can’t resist taking a shot at any rescue and this one happened to have the unmitigated gall to rescue her good buddy, Dorothy Robertson’s hoard, she has decided to carve them up publically. Nevermind the fact that the only ones that pay the price will be the horses, what PSA have you ever met really ever takes something like that into consideration? Now the self-important heifer is telling people to call the Nevada Attorney General and have the horses removed from the rescue and auctioned off. I can’t even make this crap up. The same person that whines and cries about personal property and that anybody dares to look at her horses or call her on her neglect, now wants to have that done to another person that there is NO evidence that there has ever been neglect. Right on cue, Big D, who must be freshly out of jail, chimes in with this:
“Pointing out that the rescue involved claims she’s taken not one dime (so what were the donations and chip-in and paypal account payments used for? as well as the reportedly donated vet and farrier services?) but has spent $35,000 to “rehab” these horses…..photos showing horses in some cases to have been in better condition when taken than in the “after” shots taken by NNER and others in unchanged condition. There is a ton of stuff going on behind the scenes in this case…some of which may involve federal agencies.”
Lord, give me strength! By now, anybody that cares to have seen the pictures of the wretched condition those horses were in when they were seized. We have all seen Big D’s past convictions of doing this very thing two other times in the past. She truly needs to STFU and go collect carpet fleas or something. Apparently Mendy Tobiano and Big D do not get the difference between asking for help BEFORE things get bad and just flat-out neglecting your animals while you continue to park your ass online 24/7 and fill your gullets with burgers and Doritos. For the rest of you that are genuine and concerned, you can check in with NNER on their Facebook page as they are running an online auction with several very nice items as well as having some really nice horses up for adoption. My suggestion to the PSA assholes is to either step up or shut up. You especially have no business commenting on the condition of anybody’s animals when yours look like this:
Now that we have recapped the asshattery from the usual suspects, I thought it would be useful to reiterate the `why’s of this blog. I don’t pretend to be the voice for anybody but myself. There are lots of anti-slaughter blogs out there and many of them go into far more detail than I do on any given issue. What bothers me is that people like Slaughterhouse Sue, Mendy Tobiano and all the other band of idiots are not shy about twisting what people have said and spreading their lies far and wide. Anybody that is on the fence on the slaughter issue can stumble across their ramblings and it would really be a shame for somebody to make up their mind based on propaganda and flat-out lies. Since I’ve started naming and shaming the loudest ones, many of them have taken their nonsensical ramblings private where there is no danger of an `innocent’ party being swayed by their crap. Horse Farts imploded and went secret, Mendy Tobiano rarely pokes her nose out in public other than her ridiculous blog that very few people read anyhow. Now, we have finally driven the United Horsemen to close their doors to onlookers and they won’t have to stumble across their crap either. If we can have a few laughs along the way while most of us really are working hard to end the threat of slaughter, I think that’s great too. Occasionally, we have the opportunity to make a real difference by getting the word out on an important issue and that’s a bonus. My inbox is full of things that need to be addressed in the coming weeks. I will get to all of it as time allows and hopefully we’ll have some updates on the River Ridge Farm situation this week too. If this language I choose to use or the topics I decide to discuss offends anybody, they always have the option of not coming here and reading. I suggest that the PSAs that love to follow this blog and whine about how I portray them grow thicker skin in the coming weeks because there are no changes planned as to what I write and how I choose to express myself. Happy Hump Day People!
blegh…ass-kissing article here: http://trib.com/news/state-and-regional/wyoming-legislator-returns-to-work-because-she-believes-her-late/article_0884c043-8939-562d-82b8-5a5942d1221e.html
First I want to clarify that it is a family member that is ill and has effected my household income, not me . I am fine and care for these horses everyday. I never said I could not feed them. I said that I have covered approx 90% of the costs and I have asked for donations just like every other rescue on the planet. I don’t know where they get their information from, but the farriers, the hay and the vet bills are all paid. NONE of that was donated. There is not one single picture that I have posted where the horse looks the same or worse than at seizure. Guess they they can’t read or see. I did state that I did not ask for one dime from anybody to pay their bills with the Sheriff’s office. I did not. I paid it all out of my pocket. Also ,I understand that they have been posting hay calculations and other expenses on HGS. Well D, let me tell you that your calculations are obviously wrong or your former horses would not have looked like that. It takes about 25 pounds a day of good forage for a horse to maintain its weight. In the case of these horses, if you want them to regain, try doubling those figures. Any person with common sense can do that math. You quoted prices for wormers yet it was obvious that they had not been wormed in quite a long time. The parasite load on these horses was unreal. If you can quote all of this, why didn’t you do it? Also, in my opinion D, you gave up your rights to speak about the care of these horses the day you chose to neglect them. You hurt these horses while you had them by not caring for them properly and you continue to hurt them with your lies and fabrications. I invite them to call the AC officers here. They are welcome anytime.
Thank you for clearing the air, Deanna. I certainly hope your fundraisers get a lot of support. Please feel free to leave a link on here if you want. Best wishes for your family member as well.
Perhaps since they want to send AC and the Attorney General out to visit you, you can ask for a cease and desist order on Dorothy. Apparently she doesn’t feel like she has done enough damage to these horses yet.
I think most of them can read, but reading with comprehension is another matter. It was fairly clear in your original posting that you outlined what you had paid out to rehab those horses, not that you were owing any amount. This is why we point and laugh at these people, because they do this sort of thing ALL the time. They twist around what others have said and try and make a federal case out of nothing. Rocket scientists, they are not…
Best wishes to you and your family member for a speedy recovery and great success. You’re doing a wonderful thing. Thanks.
You did state that you could no longer afford the hay needed to the rest of the winter…this was not made up since it came from NNER’ s FB:

A Cry for Help!
As you all know, back in September we took 30 horses from a neglect case. They were starved, needed medical attention and their feet were in horrible condition. Through the FB page, you have all seen the miraculous recovery of these horses. Expenses of their vet, farrier care and feeding has now topped a whopping $35,000. To date, only 10% of those expenses have been covered by donations. The rest has been paid by me personally.
Due to some personal issues with illness in the family, our personal income has dropped dramatically. I cannot pay for the additional hay that we need to get through this harsh winter.
If every person that “likes” this page would donate $10/ month, we can feed everyone here, cover spring vaccinations and the farrier bills that will continue to come. If you can share and encourage your friends to help, even better! Many of these horses are almost ready to come up for adoption. We will be working on final evaluations on them over the next couple of weeks and posting their pictures In the meantime, I need everybody to help with these expenses. People line up to save these animals from the auctions and possible kill buyers and I am grateful for that, but that is the easy part. I never asked for, or took a dime to save them from the fate of the auction block. Making them healthy physically and mentally is a long, expensive process and without the support of the public, it is nearly impossible. I am a proud, stubborn woman who hates to ask for help, but here I am doing just that because for me, it is all about the horses. I will be criticized by some for taking on more than I can “afford”. Not the case at all, as nobody plans on unexpected illness. Can you find it in your heart to help? $10 a month is not much for most people; skip a couple cups of coffee or a lunch out with friends. It means everything to these majestic animals. Please help us help them!
http://www.facebook.com/deanna.tierney#!/NortheasternNevadaEquineRescueInc
Can you check and see if that link works?
Seems to work for me. You have your auction items pinned up top so that take people to where you need them.
I will check back and answer questions if they arise.
Thanks!
Let me be the first PSA to applaud NNR for what they are doing for these horses. I had an interesting conversation last night with an ASA in regards to an OTTB that was at the New Holland sale, and this is very much in line. I wish ALL rescues acted this way, animal care first before any other action. Please continue the good work Deanna, rescues such as yours are what makes rescue work!
Thank you Rachel. I made a decision to no longer remain quiet. Difference between “D” and me? I do whatever it takes to care for them, not make excuses for why I didn’t.
May I ask a question of you Deanna, from a PSA to a rescue? Maybe you can shed some light on this for me. I have been to the sale recently, and no I didn’t rescue the ones sold to the KB because I don’t have the resources to care for more, and I know for a fact at least 3 separate “rescue” orgs were in attendance. I hear SO many stories of horses being “rescued” from the KB, why is it that when I am at a sale with the “rescues” in the building I don’t see a single one raise a hand to rescue/buy these horses? Are they waiting for the sick/broken down ones to come through to save? Again, I’m totally not knocking rescue in general, as I said yours is doing in amazing thing. I just don’t understand some others. Thanks.
That’s actually a really good question. I know I sure would hate to be in the position to have to decide who to save out of so many. I pretty much can’t even go to those kinds of sales because I find them heartbreaking. I’ll be interested to see what criteria NNER uses although I’m sure every rescue is different.
Rachael, in some instances it’s easier to get the horses from the kill buyer at a better price than if you are bidding against them. Some will intentionally run up the price on you if you are a rescue. Make sense? Look at what the Fallon auction did to the rescuers of the Nevada mustangs..shill bidders ran prices up. Also, the jockey club offers pedigrees online, even on your smart phone there’s an app that you can get info if you can look at the tattoo..it only takes a minute to find out. Does that make it easier to understand? I’ve had a few through my place but like Shedrow, i can’t go to the auctions because I’d be bringing them all home..
Yes actually it does. I wasn’t aware (as I’m a QH girl) that the JC had that type of information available so quickly. Thanks y’all for your help. 🙂
If the horse has a tattoo, it should be easy to find on equibase.com It will also show the breeder and the last trainer and owner that had the horse when it raced. That doesn’t always mean those were the people that shipped it to auction, but it’s a good place to start. Trainers like Nick Zito will usually step up if they were connected to the animals and farms like Three Chimneys will facilitate a rescue if that horse had any connection to them. Adena Springs will step up as well. Many other have policies in place, but I can’t list them all right off the top of my head.
That might be too subtle for Big D and her posse to understand. She sees the pictures of horses like Ladybug and doesn’t think they look much different or even better than when they were taken from her. I guess she was going for the skeletal with slipper feet look on her herd? Even her `prized’ stallion had slipper feet. I would guess they hadn’t been done in at least a year or more to get in the condition his were in. If she can’t see the difference in him now, no wonder her horses all looked so bad. She’s clearly blind.
My question stems from a post on my FB group, On The Fence, about a rescue at the NH sale that spotted the OTTB and contacting his prior owners…which I have zero issue with. My question, which hasn’t been answered by them as of yet, was “Did you do all the research to find out who he was and where he came from before or after you saved him? (Because to me if you are doing all that time consuming research prior to action, it’s wasted time) Or did you in fact even save him?”
There are a lot of TB breeders and owners that do appreciate the call when one of their former charges ended up in those situation. I’m just assuming, but finding that info out prior to the horse going in the ring is useful because maybe the former owner or breeder will say `yeah, go ahead and buy them back for me’ and put up the funds. That would guarantee the rescue doesn’t have to pay or even rehab the horse which would free them up to buy/save others. Just a guess though. I know if any horse that had us listed on it’s papers ended up in that situation, we would have it sent back to us.
“she has assured us that she is `swamped in research’ and about to pull the penultimate blog entry out of her expansive ass at any time”
Bwhahahahahahahahahaaaaaa…..
I cannot speak for other rescues about the way they do things,. I understand the desire to rescue every starving one, but I myself have gone to the auction and rescued the healthy, broke to ride horses that also deserve a new life. What makes one more deserving over another? To me it is all the same. Some times for me, I can do more for the healthy one than the starved ones. If you look on the rescue page, you will see a horse named Honey. She is a perfect example. I rescued her directly at the auction, rather than paying the KB for her at a marked up price. She is an outstanding horse. Talented, great ride and kid safe. Don’t know her back story, but saw the potential she had in being somebody’s riding horse. No, she was not the skinny horse that would draw alot of attention and sympathy from people, but when I looked at her, I knew she had alot to give back to someone. For me, it is some of both. I may rescue but I also understand that they all cannot be saved. I have rescued some just to do the right thing for the horse by helping it pass to a better place.I know it is not a direct answer, but is how I feel personally.
That actually is the most direct answer I have received from anybody. And it makes perfect sense. “Do the most good.” Thank you.
Great blog Shedrow! Tell it like it is once again. I’m glad that you are handling them because i have no tolerance for ignorance. Thanks.
Oh how I adore this blog! Thank you for calling out the ignorance and reporting the facts with your wit and humor.
What’s become clearer than day through all this is PSAs (and HGS) are a lot of self serving, greedy and spiteful sorry excuses for horsemen. They would rather see a rescue fail and horses harmed just to prove themselves right. What they can’t see is they’ll never be right – horses should not have to suffer a terrifying end at slaughter simply to line their pockets. How they can’t see past that is a sorry reflection on the equine community.
I’m sorry for what you’re going through Deanna and hope support comes swiftly. Thank you for stepping up and cleaning up the mess that slob of a woman created.
Someone needs to take Big Dirty D’s keyboard away from her, I throw up in my mouth a bit every time I see her comments. What a demented individual she is to think there’s a soul left that cares to hear a single word she has to say.
Mendy Tobiano cares what Big D says because she knows she’s not better herself. She just manages to stay ahead of getting a visit from animal control herself by constantly moving her horses. She wanted to know why NNER didn’t give the horses away or send them to auction? Why the hell isn’t she asking her great friend Big D the same question? Her lack of reading comprehension is disgusting considering she proudly tells people she was a `teacher’. IF you look at the pictures of Big D’s horses before the seizure, you can see she clearly didn’t give a single shit about their welfare in any way shape or form. I don’t care how poor you are, it doesn’t cost a dime to pick up a fork and pick the shit out of their way too small pens or move them out of the sun when their hide was blistering off them. As her horses starved with slipper feet, it doesn’t appear Big D missed a single meal herself. Again, just like Mendy Tobiano. Why are all these morons so predictable and why must they have horses if they care so little about them?
Deanna has been very open about answering questions here in the comment section and I thank her for that. She certainly doesn’t owe these idiots anything as they continue to twist her words and discourage people from supporting her rescue with their lies. I find it very telling they would rather see a rescue fail and the horses suffer again just so they could be `right’ about something.
Wyoming scrapped the Ag Gag bill Ha Ha Wallis!
http://www.peta.org/b/thepetafiles/archive/2013/02/15/bob-barker-wyoming-should-bag-ag-gag.aspx
Never ceases to amaze me that people fight so hard against anti-cruelty laws and then expect everybody to believe them when they say slaughter is humane. I guess if you don’t have a voice and can’t say `ouch’ that means you can’t suffer to people like Suey.
Fantastic!!!!
Their determination to get this passed only proves they have something to hide. If only the other states weren’t so easily bought by corporate lobbiest.
@ntvspt — according to FSN, this bill passed the House, and is now awating senate approval.

Thanks for the link
Thanks for the link *where did my other thanks for the link post go LOL)
Just for complete clarification…whne I was posting on the Nevda 34 threads as ANN….that is my middle name and go by it often…but to end any confusion as to what ANN I am…..
I am know as “glideride” over at HGS!
And she’s back….
I love how they care what we think and will happily throw each under the bus!
lol, I thought the same thing!
For all we know (or care) Ann/Anne/Angry Annie/Manes/glideride could be BlabberBars, Farmless/Kairen/Karen/Karien, Angie or one of the other losers that are throwing a party in hopes NNER fails for their own selfish benefit.
Too bad the horses are not a priority for them and their desire to play armchair detective, judge and jury is more important. They’ve turned a horrible situation into their own poorly written Law and Order episode.
If only they ad a clue between them! Not since Mendy Tobiano have I seen such an identity crisis.
Thank you so, much, ann-glideride. We were so wondering about that. Now we can sleep.
Ha ha! I just snorted water out my nose…
Didn’t Angry Annie tell us to “bring it on” (or “BRING IT ON!!”) when there were comments about an ACO needing to visit her farm when she was being referenced as Manes? Perhaps glidehide is trying to tell us Annie’s horses are in trouble!
Hmmmmm…..
I hope that every concerned about welfare of equines and food safety takes the time to notice the imbecilic tactics of the proslaughter crowd. The imbeciles do, however get support from lobbyists, moronic Congressmen like King (Iowa) and the poorly trained journalists and media in the US.
They do not address facts, they spin them; most often attacking the source or switching to Constitutional issues….neither of which addresses point ON FACT.
They cannot debate an indefensible position…HCHS, abuse, neglect and asswipes that breed because they cannot operate a fucking fence or gate. So they choose to deflect, deny and continue.
Simple argument, logic and debate 101.
And sadly the butcher, beat up equines and poison humans consortium can’t even fucking spell….much more think.
They are on the run folks…..
The demand for horse meat has been going down, and the #s slaughtered go up. The only thing that explains this is lying about horse meat in beef products. We have to seriously consider it’s going on with US products, too.
In 2012, over 170,000 US horses lost their lives in brutal, foreign owned slaughter houses to line the pockets of foreign shell corporations that put banned drugs into the human food supply. US horses exported are way up .. Mexico about doubled.
Wal-Mart – which has products in the EU scandal – sources its US food imports internationally.
There is no science, no culture, no data to justify horse slaughter. The only thing that keeps it going in the US is bought and paid for politicians. But with the EU scandals, can the end be far off?
Susan, I think you may have a point about the price going down, which is most likely due to demand. I think it also explains why equine meats/DNA are being found in bovine products, especially highly processed food products….surplus equals dumping….and I think that is exactly what the corporations controlling HCHS are doing….. dumping their product any way possible.
p.s. They (whom ever they are) are finding bute in horse meat/carcasses in the EU.
Surprise, surprise!
Not hardly.
The slaughter of horses will actually be the downfall of the beef industry. Everybody will quit eating beef because they don’t want to mistakenly eat horsemeat. Sometimes you create what you fear, Cattlemen.
We were talking about that very thing at lunch today. Already, I would never eat read meat in Europe again, it’s pretty dicey whether or not I would do it domestically from an unidentified source. Seems safer to stick with chicken and fish.
Agreed! For years we’ve been saying the best strategy for Big Beef would be to support, not thwart, the US majority’s push to end horse slaughter.
The tawdry crookedness of horse slaughter, we said, would some day return to haunt its biggest defender, The Cattlemen.
It seemed shortsighted for The Cattlemen to go on about property rights instead of empathizing with the public’s right to non-contaminated food, and our traditional relationship with the horse.
The chickens have come home to roost. The EU meat scandal shows how the horse and beef markets are intertwined in Europe … and don’t serve the public good.
Can US recalls be far behind?
Good point Daisy, it appears Karma has a sense of humor!!
This is another reason why I choose not to eat dead animals, the risk of contamination and/or inadvertent support of cruelty is a powerful deterrent.
Hey the feedyourhorses, seems as though you have a very high opinion…..Not\ doungt with the smaill amount of minions that actually follown this blong….
And my BRIG it in commment came from your BS that , maybe A/C should be looking at some HGS horses….I said bting it on….go right ahead and send a/c to my place…they would be laughing all the way home!
Why you folks decided that I “ANN” was manesntail is stupid to beging with, just some more of your oh so perfectness I guess!
I nor many members find this blog horrific, with all of your assumtions and all….hey, here is a novel idea.
Try putting out FACTS, and not niased ones either…the tragedy that happen at that TB farm was horrible…but one only needs to folllow the money trail to find your answers….pronlem is you won”t like what you fine.
So tunrd into Derby Day with all the clebrities, fancy hats/dresses and mint julips!…..!
You see it is very easy to turn a blind eye….keeps ones from seeing the STILL over bred TB, you just sound a way to fiter then off the top of the slaughter list…..andhe list goes on but you wpuld ratjer NOT se that part would you.
You filks are not entertaining in the least bit….pathetic fits better!
Now I’m beginning to think you might be farmeress aka Karien because I need a moron to English translation on what you just wrote. Could you get a six year old to come fix that last statement up so we can figure out exactly WTF you are actually trying to say? Everybody makes typos, but very rarely have I seen a grown adult butcher the English language like you just did. Seriously.
Wow. I might print and frame glide-hide’s post so I can read it when I need a good laugh. Too funny….
It could very well be farm-less, but at this point what does it matter? They’re all a bunch of selfish, ignorant morons that couldn’t see the facts if they popped up out of their Frito pie and smacked them in their toothless face.
I say we send Ann to congress next time there’s a vote on this, if she’s the norm for PSAs horses don’t have a thing to worry about!
Just as the FBI profiles people it is getting easier and easier to profile HGS posters…
I used to think it was sad that HGS morons spent so much time on the net instead of with family and friends out in the real world but after reading their comments I believe the real world is better off. It’s best they stick to chat rooms and parrot Wikipediaisms.
However, those dimwits provide plenty of laughs and have given me my new favorite word; “ratjer” – and for that I am grateful.
If anyone comes across the moron to English translation please share, it’s bound to be entertaining!!
This blong?!?!
LMAO – that’s the best thing I’ve heard all day. If you’re the representative HGS sent over you guys are a bigger group of morons than previously thought.
I could’t get past the first “paragraph” so I can’t respond to the rest. Based on that mess I think we can safely say; yes – we are better than you. Oh my God I’m crying I’m laughing so hard….
Did you type with your ass?? Oh the visual is killing me…. lololol!
Yup, coffee right out the nose as soon as I read this…
Sorry, didn’t think making my post actually does make you better…Sure fits though! And your rudeness speaks volumes of you as a person..Bet you type your replies.using word or something…just so you can be very perfect.
Please feel free to print and frame my post if it gives you so much joy
And No!!!!!!!! I am not farmeress, why do you folks always guess at who we are….Thinking you spend way to much time readiing posts at HGS….which by the way you could NEVER become even close to those members (They would chew you up and a spit it out)….But feel free to spin all your little stories…..
I only stop in to check what kind of trash you are spinning, it’s crazy!
What old wise one…no words from you about the TB industry? Well of course not… nobody wants all those dirty little secrets to come out
I do hope the subject comes up again though, then maybe you could pull your heads out s1clark@ardmore.netof the sand to see it for WHAT it really is…
Must be nice to live in the land of butterflies and rainbows!
No, I don’t use Word or any other program beyond basic spell check to write any posts or replies. I don’t need to because I actually went to school beyond grade six. I make typos just like everybody else, but at least I am able to lay out a coherent sentence for the most part as most adults should be able to do.
Again, I have no clue what you are trying to say, but I think you are challenging me to a duel? I don’t have time in my life for message boards in general, let alone a clusterfuck like HGS. I’m not sure what any of this has to do with the TB industry specifically, but I’ve certainly taken their bad apples to task when it is called for. There is no other breed that operates under with as much transparency as they do due to gaming laws, yet they aren’t perfect either.
BTW, I’m not sure what kind of game you are playing, but I don’t edit comments as a rule. Since you chose to put your email in your post, and nobody else did that, it can stay there. Continue to bomb my email all you want. Maybe next time you will actually proof read your posts.
Oh shoot. She took her medicine…. And woke up with a new name!
Ok, I recognize the language as a form of English but I still don’t see the point you’re trying to make. Is there one?
You guys can’t keep going to other forums and whining about posters being rude when you’re doing the very same thing. Google the meaning of hypocrisy to see how foolish you sound.
“Sorry, didn’t think making my post actually does make you better…Sure fits though!” What fits? That we’re better? I agree.
I seriously doubt your buds could chew anybody up and spit them out. Your thoughts barely connect, your posts lack credibility and are chock full of speculation, arrogant opinions and incoherent babble. Your threats are empty and comical, but if you’d like to have a civilized debate it would surely be entertaining!!
The posts made under Ann/Anne, and now glideride, vary dramatically in form so either you and your couple friends are sharing the same username, you’re schizophrenic or you had a mild stroke yesterday (that post still cracks me up….lol!). You guys need to stick to your little club and spin your conspiracy theories, avoid forums that are set in reality.
What is your point about the TB industry? That they’re more transparent than any other breed registry as SrC mentioned? That they have more programs and options in place for retired horses than any other breed registry? That the media is constantly after them and targeted by AR/AW groups? Compare them to AQHA and/or APHA to see the difference. Oh, AQHA are staunch PSAs, that does differentiate them from the TB world. What does AQHA do for all the halter rhinos they put on pedestals that have no purpose other than hoping their tiny little legs can hold up their mutant asses? Is that the subject you want to discuss? Or do YOU need to pull your head out of s1clark@ardmore.net???
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, just the person I figured would jump on this! WRONG again…no medicine or new nane…As I had stated YOU people like to make us all one in the same….We are not! My name is Ann, otherwise known as glideride.
Oh and when it comes to rude, we don’t come out with such vile and nasty words….as much as I would like to say things to you…I refuse since I was raised better than that. So very glad that you are so much better than many…must be nice
Here is a thought for you “feedyourhorses”…maybe you should be the one using Google and look up Narcissitic, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Oh, and our “little club” as you call it…happens to be a very large forum with many, many members…not just a tiny little blog with only the same few minions…So you find it funny and entertaining when horses are involved…now that IS pathetic!
And my point about the TB industry…Are you serious, more transparent than any other…so I guess yiou must where blinders then, that would bwe the only logical reason for that answer.
I have been personally involved with TB’s for many years, even had to retrain a few. And make NO mistake about it…there is a whole lot of retraining that goes on…Maybe you need a little reminder.
The BABIES…yes I said BABIES are thrown onto a track at age two; they are taught one basic “aide” get out of the gate fast and run as though your life depended on. Sure is, because if they do not cut it at the track…well who knows the fate of these horses.
Back in the day the “truck” would pull right up to the breeding shed/barns….yup TB’s were at the top of the list as far as being disposable….Unless you had a filly that had some bloodlines that any barn blind person would breed…since they must throw awesome race horses.
But you see, the making a breed specific “rescue” (should be red flag about over breeding) then this industry are just angels…Wrong, it’s still is all about the money and plenty of palms are being greased because of it! And because the ANTI stance when the details came out, well they wanted the tracks shut down so in order to “help” the horse they used the diversify system…what a joke, and who pays the largest price….the horses because every time they leave the gate ….they are literally running for its life!
How about this example…people making bets on a certain animal to win…kind of reminds me of Pitt Bull fighting…but then again the blood, abuse and death are in your face and most people would not like to witness that…At least with horse racing all that happens behind the scenes…And happen it does!
These are wonderful horses born into a horrid life, and if I hear ONE more time how they are bred for it and just love their job I’m going to spit…
Thank GOD for places like C.A.N.T.E.R and Rerun, they have been able to help many of these broken down horses at age 3,4,5 and 6….They are young horses that should be just starting a career…not in of a new one because they have been injured and just didn’t like bring a race horse…
Just take a look at CANTER….3 year olds that can only be a companion horse since it was run into the ground starting at age 2.
So as tragic of a story it was to see about the TB farm….it’s not just about a farm it IS about the industry, after all most barn blind breeders are always in search of a Stakes winner. So you go right ahead and paint the picture about how great and wonderful it is….It is a bloodsport!
Now you’re glideride – Ann? Lol. The fun never ends with you guys!
I’m very familiar with the TB industry; I don’t need an education from whoever is now posting from your group. Nor do I need to show you my resume or introduce you to my TBs, but I guarantee you I’ve spent more time on the back side and seen more than you’ll manage to find on Wikipedia.
Not all of your points are accurate and there’s no sense in reminiscing about “back in the day” – let’s focus on what’s happening now and what can be done to make the world a better place for equines. Sending them to a horrific death is not the answer.
HGS does in fact have many members, take a count of how many of those members actually participated in your witch hunt against NNER, also count how many were stupid enough to fall for CCHs BS and support her even after seeing what she did to those horses. The stud died in case YOU need a little reminder. Compare those few to those on other forums, and in the real world, that weren’t duped by Big D and you’ll see what a pathetic little group you’re part of.
Still not sure what your point is, you failed to mention how other breed registries contribute to slaughter. Do you now have a vendetta against TBs after seeing your attack against NNER fail?? You also left out New Vocations and The Secretariat Center, there are lots of great organizations out there that rehome ex-racers. How many other breeds can say the same? Hmmmmmm….?
You should look at the STB industry as well, you might learn something.
Judging the TB industry on the few horses she may or may not have interacted with is like judging any other breed based solely on the horses that show up at rescues. As with the organizations you mentioned, they aren’t all just to rescue the broken and thrown away, but rather a place to train them for their new careers beyond racing. I think it’s awesome. The QHs can’t do that for their mutant halter horses because they are all so crippled and dying of seizures. This could go on all day because Ann/Glide or whoever she is being today can’t see as well as Stevie Wonder apparently…
No folks my name has not changed EVER…simply put my given nane is ANN, but of course you couldn’t understand that since you all hide behind screen names!
I only wanted to try and make a point since you all like to think we are either one person or that any one named ANN is the same person…so once again, Ann is my given name but my screen name on HGS is glideride DO YOU GET THAT!
We won’t even go into how many TB”s I have worked with, but I will say they were not ALL at rescues…You do not know me or how I even got started with horses….But can you say Suffolk Downs??? I saw enough over the years so you need not go there.
So …head on back to the land of butterflies and rainbows where all is so perfect in the TB industry….Just make sure to keep those blinders on so you can remain among the ignorance of racing horses and breeeding them…you DO breed themn don’t you….just another part of the problem no matter how you would like to spin it. And as long as you can sleep at night.
So in your own words enough IS enough, dealing with you folks is a JOKE so I’m done!
The only point that was made around here is the point on your head where the rest of us have brains. I still don’t understand what point you are trying to make other than you hate TB people. I’m ok with that.
Ooooo…. Don’t go there Src!! You’ll make Annie angry again and she’ll have another tourettes episode!!
Whoever said the TB industry was “so perfect”? You’re the one that brought up the industry and it seems like you’re trying to make a point but you’re obviously struggling. If your intent is simply to say you don’t like TB people then OK, move on – your opinion has no value to those who know better.
If you feel those that are actually involved with the racing industry are ignorant compared to someone who used to go to Suffolk Downs that I fear it is you who lives in the land of butterflies and rainbows. I must have missed the part about breeding but I can assure you I certainly am not doing so. Nor am I sending any to slaughter, quite the contrary actually. But you have no idea what you’re talking about, once again!
Stay amongst your kind if you want to resort to your hobby of playing armchair detective, twisting words and concocting illogical conspiracy theories. Don’t you have an Internet party to throw about the recent changes in Oklahoma? You’re celebrating greedy slobs profiting from the deaths of horses you profess to care about?? Talk about blood money… Your idiocy knows no bounds.
For those of us of sound mind, you have to keep in mind that Ann/Anne/glideride/glideride-Ann/Manes and their pals represent the worst of PSAs; they support an issue based on ignorance and propaganda. They truly believe US plants will prevent neglect and are actually excited that horses may die so their ill-bred lot can have a higher market value. This is also the same group that supports a woman who starved her horses and allowed their hooves to grow to crippling lengths then attacked the rescue that is now taking care of them. Disturbing but true. May they all rot under a festering mountain of rancid manure. Not one is worth the powder it would take to blow them to Hell, but I am concerned for any horses in their possession if they have such low regard for the species.
Because I know Angry Annie is still trolling…. Here’s what those horrible TB people are doing in regards to the situation. What has AQHA and APHA done lately??

I think it is about time you revisited this issue and had a look at how this ‘wonderful, caring’ rescue is treating horses. Fillies and colts of breeding age penned together for more than 6 months. Ribs and hip bones galore. Bellies so full of worms. You can follow the tragedy of this place here. http://myhorseforum.com/threads/nner.540906/page-191 These poor horses need rescuing from this hell parading itself as a rescue.

Deanna Tierney just had 150 horses seized in TX. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156723134718155&id=53430793154
See Lucy’s comment in 2015. Did you not take her seriously because you had decided that Deanna Tierney “a good one” and new information be damned? You enjoy a lot of web traffic and may have been able to help prevent the tragedy that unfolded in Texas, if not mitigate some of it in Nevada. You have a large audience and they may have taken it more seriously if you had as well.
Instead, you dismissed everyone who ever posted on HGS and what do you know, some of them were right to be concerned about what Tierney was or wasn’t doing with horses in her care and custody.
I wasn’t even looking at comments in 2015. In case you haven’t noticed, the blog was on hiatus. I don’t profit from this blog. What part of that are you not understanding. Millions of hit or none, and it makes no difference to me. As far as HGS goes, that was a big nest of assholes anyhow. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because Deanna lost the plot doesn’t make Dorothy Roberston a saint which was the original issue as I recall. .
I have a suggest for you though. If you think you can do it better, by all means start your own blog and post away about whatever is important to you. WordPress blogs are free and pretty easy to figure out. Fill your boots!
