I’m going to try to keep this as short as possible today. I’ll leave the epic and self-serving posts to Manson. I think I’ll leave the empty promises to her as well. Updates that never happen, vets that are never called, etc. etc. What I do have today is some brief HiCaliber stuff to update on and then a few other things that are somewhat related but not really. Is that as clear as mud? Read on!
I’m sure you’ve all read the incredibly long and self-involved tha post Manson put up on the HiCaliber page last week. I won’t bother to repost it in its entirety here, but there are some things worth talking about other than the fact that she’s so lazy she leaves the garbage on the floor for somebody else to pick up. We also don’t need to highlight that, by her own admission, she was in such a drug induced stupor she can’t even hear her own animals ripping it apart or anything else going on. Nice. No confirmation on whether or not her housekeeper is still coming twice a week, but let’s hope so. I’ve seen the post rehashed over and over, including her grossly understated numbers on her own personal hoard herd. What I’m mostly concerned with is that a number of people reached out suggestions, offers and moral support. Of course, those things don’t buy you manicures and even though the village ponied up nearly $400, the cash didn’t flow like the good old days. I guess that’s what happens when you shake the money tree once too often.
Here are just two examples of the word play by Manson that amounts to lying. No, the ASPCA probably haven’t offered to take the horses, but the San Diego Humane Society has and have also publicly stated they are prepared to step in and have a more than weekly presence at the ranch. Then you have Manson claiming she has no debt. This is what you would call a lie of omission. She may well have no personal debt on paper right now since she filters everything through the rescue which currently has a LOT of debt right now. She also had two bankruptcies in 2014 so there is that too.
Manson promised updates and a list of adoptables almost a week ago. As of this writing, there has been nothing so it was time for some moles to get busy. These pics were all taken within the last 10 days. The first two show the barn horses which appear to be Sync and Casper. I’m not entirely sure why they are in the barn, but Casper has been said to have vision issues in the past.
The horses in these pics appear to be Boone and Legacy or at least part of Legacy’s face in the one picture. Boone still seems to be wearing that filthy bandage on one ankle, but not sure what it’s hiding or if they are just trying to bow him maybe. The filth in the pens and manure mountains are clearly evident but at least the horses have some shelter for a change.
Here are some other random pics from around the ranch. There is at least one gray horse that appears thin enough to hang a hat on their hip bones. Shasta is still there which seems to be the penalty for packing Manson’s ass around on trail rides. Why hasn’t this mare been adopted yet? Is she still available? Who knows?
Even though they are not available for adoption, these are the Manson horses, including poor Chrome and his shredded fly mask. Braveheart is still in the ranch and in her herd despite her claims she only adopted him to help place him. You can read that back 87 more times and it won’t make any sense. Trust me. The broken pipe fencing is interesting too given the fact that Rizzo and Meatball’s injuries. Speaking of which…
After collecting over $1000 for the treatment of the injured horses, Manson has flat-out refused to provide updates or even come clean on who the injured horses are. I find this odd for a number of reasons. She claims not to read the `hater’ pages or this blog or even screen shots from the same, yet she somehow knows people are questioning whether a vet sewed up Rizzo. For some reason Manson’s internet only works when she’s posting on her new Alphatwat Commune page or when she’s posting under one of her alternate profiles.
The good news is they are still getting hay delivered. There was a brand new load on the drive way just a few days ago. I am not certain if this was billed or cash and carry, so we could be in for another crisis post about the horses going hungry as we get closer to the move out date. More on that anon.
I’m sure you all remember the pregnant mare with cancer that turned out to be not pregnant and or have cancer. Luckily for her, she was a rescue transfer recently but not before some questionable updates by HiCaliber. The pic of her in the pen is courtesy of a mole and I had that in my last post. The other two pics of her neck wound were from the update Manson posted of her right before she ended up going to the other rescue. Yes, her teeth had been done when she got to her new home, but the neck wound was not quite the same.
This is what the mare, now named Lily’s, neck wound looked like the day she arrived at TIER. This raises a few questions for me; mainly how long was she really at HiCaliber and when was that update really done? Why was it necessary to lie and deceive other than the mare’s wounds clearly got much worse since she was `rescued’ by HiCaliber. Thankfully, she’s in a good place now and under the care of a 100% vet. You can follow her progress on TIER’s Facebook page.
As much as it irks me to do so, we need to address some of Mags’s antics as of late. As most of you know, she’s one of the more vocal cockblockers as it pertains to stopping the abuses at HiCaliber. Nobody is entirely sure why that is other than maybe it’s because she didn’t get to break the story and her feelers go hurt. Thankfully, her efforts have mostly had the effect of flies buzzing around a picnic table. Hella annoying but they really don’t stop you from having your meal. Know what I’m sayin? Anyhow, many of us `haters’ have been accused of dragging Manson’s kids into things even though I have seen very little of that. I’ve seen concern for them voiced, but by and large, people mostly leave them out of things even when Manson exploits them in her fundraising efforts. Not so for Mags. Without any actual knowledge and despite never having actually met Manson or her spawn, she’s trashing the father of the boy and then oversharing about her own family sitch, WTH? It is probably safe to assume that Mags’ info comes from Angrid, if not Manson herself, as those seem to be her HiCaliber connections. Of course getting the story straight doesn’t really seem to be a thing for Mags.
Many of you know that Mags wrote a little piece on the half-brother of Zenyatta being found at auction in not so great shape. She’s been self promoting it all over likely in hopes of another honorable mention certificate or something. I think that’s probably the equivalent of a participation ribbon considering you have to submit your own work in the first place, but that’s an issue for another day. We’re certainly used to Mags turning a blind eye to facts and proof as far as the HiCaliber saga goes but apparently that carries over to her professional career too. She clearly stated in her article that Zenyatta’s sister, Balance was a Breeders Cup Distaff winner. That is categorically false information and she was obviously called on it.
As you can see, Mags edited out her false information. Unfortunately she seemed to be stuck on the cliché `bluest of racing blood’ statement and left that part in there. Maybe she thinks it ads some flavor to her grade school book report style of writing. The perplexing part of the misfire was that it was a relatively easy fact to check. Anybody can run a horse’s name through Equibase and get their stats. I would call it sloppy journalism but even that is a stretch. The whole `story’ actually broke on the OTTB Connect Facebook page and was available to anybody to write and follow up on. Not much digging or investigative skills at play here. Investigating and digging doesn’t seem to be a thing with Mags either though.
This is the part that really isn’t much to do with HiCaliber aside from Mags. Dina Alborano is a kill pen dipper that kinda burst onto the scene this past year. Her `big saves’were eerily reminiscent of the OTTB20 debacle and even people who didn’t follow that particular mess had some serious concerns. I strongly urge people to read up on exactly what the issues are and how it’s all unfolded here. Naturally, Mags was originally Dina’s biggest supporter and spent a lot of time on Facebook singing her praises and supporting her. I actually hadn’t even seen these screen shots until recently but clearly I was on Mags mind. At least I think I was. Maybe it was JM on her mind thinking it was me. It’s all so confusing and could give a person an identity crisis when they are constantly being told they are somebody they are not. Mostly I’m offended that she thinks I’m blonde. Not that there is anything wrong with being blonde, it just doesn’t really suit my skin tone.
Flash forward to the present and Mags has become a Dina hater. The very same person she was proud to know and so staunchly defended. I’m thinking a lot of this has to do with the fact that so many industry heavy hitters have spoken out against Dina’s organization but it clearly shows that Mags doesn’t quite gather all the facts before she goes off on something or supports an organization. Not surprising in the least given whose word she claimed changed her opinon of HiCaliber *cough*JennyEarhart*cough*. If Mags truly was concerned about the welfare of these horses, and given her recent behavior, she would stand down and let the real horsemen and women handle this. Given her past praises and support of Dina, her involvement at this point is a detriment to what true advocates are trying to accomplish.
Somebody should ask Mags what her hands on involvement with the Borell horses was. From what I understand, she didn’t even bother to go see them when she went to Kentucky to pick up her prize money. For sure she didn’t clean any stalls, brush or anything. I’m also fairly certain that Maria Borell has yet to answer for what she has done or even been arrested.
Apparently self-awareness is not a thing with Mags either. At least she brings the comedy whether she means to or not. Let’s move on…
I’ve had this in my inbox for a few days. To be honest, I wanted to sit on it until we could get it all confirmed but since it’s being loudly whispered about, here it is. I would caution people not to get too excited about this. Given the dates involved and the fact that the charges are against Manson as an individual, this is likely nothing to do with the AG or much more than traffic violations or unpaid fines. I feel like such a fun ruiner for even saying that, but it is what it is. I hope I’m wrong.
As I leave things this week, we are still waiting for updates on which horses need adopting. While Manson creates the sense of crisis that has worked so well to raise funds in the past, it’s not gone unnoticed that she hasn’t lifted a finger towards finding the remaining horses homes. The horses only really get mentioned to further her agenda. While we’re at it, what ever happened to those skinny and battered horses she posted about nearly a month ago? With only minimal funds raised, they seemed to have vanished like a fart in the wind. No other rescues in Manson’s area have reported being called about them either. Why aren’t the village demanding to know where they are and what happened? I really wish I had the answers to all these questions. Hopefully, the next few weeks will bring those answers but I won’t be holding my breath. Stay the course though. Then end is in sight.
