I have to apologize in advance for yet another really long post. I’ve got a bunch of things to share today and a lot of them have clips. Those of you on mobile phones just click on them and they should play. With the increased media interest in all things HiCaliber, the instinct has been to keep things a bit closer to the vest in order to preserve their integrity in ongoing complaints and investigations. However, things have gotten this far because of many voices coming together, so people deserve to be kept in the loop as much as is appropriate. Even though it’s Monday this post is probably best digested with an adult beverage or three. It’s 5 O’clock somewhere! Hopefully, I can present all of this in a somewhat palatable way. Even I’m confused by some of it, but I’m pretty sure that is by design and not happenstance. Somebody please kick me if I ever get this far behind again!
Let’s kick off with the Braveheart drama. About a week ago there was a post made on HiCaliber Horror Story that showed concern for the condition of Braveheart based on a picture that had been posted. It was followed up with a denial from HiCaliber, complete with a strategically posed and cropped picture of him that was supposed to show he was in great shape. For starters, the picture that Alex posted was not his intake picture or what he looked like when he got to HiCaliber. The above pic in the trailer is what he looked like and he was not that skinny. Also, if you notice the HiCaliber picture, it does show ribs and his spine protruding and it was originally posted on February 25th. Manson just cropped herself and Merrily out of the pic. Still not convinced?
All these picture were taken on March 10th and posted in one of HiCaliber’s secret groups. They knew damn well that Alex was telling the truth and deliberately lied to their village to cover up the fact this horse has lost an astonishing amount of weight in the past few months. He is not thriving. The only thing we have seen of him is his ears as he hauls Manson around on trail rides or maybe catch a glimpse of him tacked up so you can’t see his spine. There is no denying that this horse is much thinner than when they bought him. A `hater’ did not sneak on their property to take these pictures of him either and the only mistake Alex made was that he came from Salvador and not Nacho.
THESE are what hater pics look like since were on the subject. This was from March 9th clearly showing the filth and crowding. Just so we’re clear and all…
I’m sure most of you reading this post feel sorry for this volunteer. She seems to want peace, love and happy horses. I’m not sure the wisdom behind smudging with all those fire hazards around, but there has been rain so there is that. Sadly, just like Manson, this volunteer seems to be able to flip the switch between spiritual and just plain nasty.
So much for peace, love and sage, huh? Let’s not forget these ladies were their friends. You can not like what they did (personally, I love what they did), but some of this stuff seems a bit below the belt. In fact, much further below the belt than I ever thought of going. However, at least two seem to have a flicker of common sense and realizing that these people that were `reasonable’ and `not malicious’ are likely telling the truth. Not smudging Lori though, she’s gonna keep things low.
As per usual, nothing is ever Manson’s fault. You will note she says they have only had two positive cultures within the last year. That is what you would call a lie of omission because she most certainly didn’t culture each and every sick horse. In fact, she doesn’t even mention how many horses were cultured. Two out of two is 100%, just sayin…
Last fall, a company came out to HiCaliber to film some spots for their rice bran product. I remember this because it was sold to the village as a special visitor coming and a major working bee ensued. It was pretty awesome deal for HiCaliber as the company left them 7 pallets of their product. Rice bran is one thing that really good at putting weight on horses without making them hot. It’s especially good for seniors and metabolic types. I’d think that would be just the sort of thing a rescue would need. However, just a few short months later they were begging for more during the Del Mar fiasco.
Flash forward to the present and there sits much of the rice bran right where the company left it. Much of it is spoiled. For over six months, as they begged for money for feed numerous times, they walked right past pallets of rotting feed nobody could get off their ass and move. The second pic is the little bit that was able to be saved as they finally decided now might be a good time to move it into the feed room.
I’m sure most of you have seen the live feed where Manson addressed the recent media reports of her sketchy financial records. She adamantly denied that she had ever used the donor funds for personal gain when she was interviewed by inewsource earlier. Naturally, she had an excuse for everything and attempted to throw other people under the bus in her live feed. The problem is that she’s pulling things out of her ass yet again. The financials were not from the people she’s blaming and, contrary to her excuses, nobody broke in and stole anything. I’m pretty sure the auditors won’t buy that excuse either because it’s about on par with the dog ate my homework. The reason these Paypal records are available at all is that they don’t have to phone Manson up and ask her permission to view her them. They would subpoena them directly from Paypal and for whatever reason they became available through a public records request. There is a reason her Paypal accounts are frozen and it’s not because a hater phoned up Paypal and made something up. That order likely came down from the AG or one of the other investigating agencies. Anyhow, back to Weight Watchers and Manson’s claim of reimbursing the rescue. She shows one time that she might have and the dates were conveniently chopped out.
Do you know what else her excuse doesn’t cover? The fact that she used HiCaliber’s account for 4 consecutive months to pay for her Weight Watchers. She says it was only one time and she `forgot her card’ but it was an online payment and how do you forget your card when paying online? How do you conveniently make the same mistake 4 months in a row? She sure does seem to forget her debit card a whole bunch when I looked at the rest of the financials.
Here’s a whole bunch of other times she must have `forgot her card’. School fees, Google Play, Del Taco, Starbucks, bar tabs, etc, etc. If you watched her live feed, you’ll recall she spoke at great length about appreciating her volunteers and buying them meals. You tell me how many volunteers she’s appreciating for a $2.95 Starbucks tab or $6.46 at Del Taco. How is it a business expense to pay a dog trainer? What you won’t find is payments for lashes or nails on these records. I’m sure those are cash transactions anyhow and there are a whole bunch of cash withdrawals from various locations, often with more than one within minutes of another.
This was another fee that stood out for me. It’s a payment to Manson’s divorce attorney. The same attorney that is said to have a her personal horse living at HiCaliber for several years for free.
Then you have the whole spyware lie Manson told on live feed. If you recall, she said it was to spy on haters and she installed it on her own laptop to see if her records were being stolen. That was a lie. She actually installed the spyware on her ex’s phone to see if he was cheating on her. There is a screen shot of the volunteer that installed it saying as much and the other screen shots are the transcripts from the spyware on his phone. I apologize they aren’t very clear. You should still be able to see that it’s not a business conversation she was spying on. Again, how is this a legitimate business expense or even legal? Turns out it would be considered wiretapping and could result in jail time and/or fines. Given the dates on these PayPal records and transcripts, the statute of limitations hasn’t even run out on that yet and it would apply whether she was spying on her ex or a former board member. You can read about it here. It’s laid out pretty clear and now we have Manson right on video admitting she did it, if not being truthful about who she did it to and why. Don’t worry, videos are saved.
The other day, Manson shared a rather disturbing video of her child trying to `milk’ their Pug. She claims the dog isn’t pregnant and had a false pregnancy or something. The dog was clearly uncomfortable and Manson’s child giggled and squeezed her nipples harder until something came out. Like I said, it was disturbing and for that reason I won’t be posting it. Manson likes to overshare her child’s problems on social media and claim she gets bullied and then she posts things like this for all to see. Thankfully, it did not stay up long as even her village idiots were mostly not all that amused by it. However, speaking of the Pug and all things financial…
I wonder if Manson happened to forget her card the day she bought a $1600 dog? Aside from the obvious issue with somebody in rescue going to a breeder and paying that much for a dog, it appears the rescue got to buy the dog . That’s a helluva `oops’ with using the wrong card. Thanks Village!
Last Tuesday, many of us were interested to see how auction was going to be handled with a temporary suspension of Manson’s ability to openly beg and grift for money. We knew there was no way she’d miss auction and the fact that she showed up with her horse trailer pretty much guaranteed she wasn’t going home empty. The village idiots were appropriately and dramatically outraged before the horses were even in the ring. Manson primed them even further with a pair of dramatic posts including the buzzwords she knew would stir up plenty of emotion and a sense of urgency. Bonded pairs! Melanomas! Youngsters! Thankfully, some of our stealth mole was around so we have somewhat of an idea of what really went down. As we know, Manson stood in the chutes bemoaning about all the horses going to flipper and trippers until she heard that there was another rescue there and rapidly changed her story to one of whining about sustainability and how irresponsible it was for them to create this market because the way she does it keeps prices low. In other words, the usual suspects may not be so eager to take her chump change in the parking lot if they think running them through the ring will pay better. What confused me is that Manson is always ranting about other rescues not stepping up and what would happen to the horses without them and yet when a rescue does step up, she whines about that too. As far as sustainability goes, I’m pretty sure that won’t be an issue. A Little Rescue is run by Brandi Perse. Their property used to belong to Ellen DeGeneres. I would like them to rescue me. The other thing is that A Little Rescue came in and did this without drama or taking shots at anybody. They were there to save some horses and that’s exactly what they did.
What Manson did not show her village idiots was the dead animals she stepped over on her way to whine in the chutes. Since she has yet to figure out a way to do parking lot deals for other livestock, it didn’t really suit her narrative to highlight the plight of other animals at this cesspool of an auction. There was also at least one other dead animal in the pens as well.
Thanks to our stealth moles, some of Manson’s stories can be busted up. Yes, the mare that had recently become separated from her foal was brought by Salvador. She came with the fleabitten gray Arab stallion that ended up with Love This Horse Rescue. Thank you to them for stepping up as well. I’m sure by now that everybody has heard all the conspiracy theories about this mare and who her foal might have been. Without DNA that’s all they are is theories. However we know for a fact this mare was bagged up and producing milk. We know that a week previously HiCaliber came into possession of an `orphan’ filly that was barely a day old and that filly possibly came from Salvador as he was at auction that day with his trailer but did not run horses through the ring. We’ll talk more about babies and mares in a bit though. Let’s talk about some other things that maybe not everybody knows about last Tuesday.
After the sale horses had run through the ring, HiCaliber briefly posted about this horse and said they were looking for a private buyer and needed $700 for him. He was very foot sore and was offered to nobody else. The ad was also pulled down right away and the horse not mentioned again.
Nacho was also at auction last week. I’m not sure which horses he brought or if it was just a goat day for him. All these guys have Manson and Romney Faye’s number so they would have been aware that things would be going down a bit differently this week.
So after auction, this trailer belonging to another regular flipper named Jose showed up after Manson had left. He did have horses in his trailer. He and his brother Marco are becoming regulars in the HiCaliber parking lot scams. In this video taken by one of our stealth moles, he denies knowing Manson or HiCaliber. He also mentions to his kid that they are being filmed and that he wants to get out of there but will be back next week and arrive earlier. I find that super interesting that he denied knowing Manson considering he has a very distinguishable trailer and has sold them horses before. Don’t believe me?
It seems Jose is as unfamiliar with the truth as Manson is. In fact, he’s done lots of business with her in recent months. He sold her Gigi, Roxanne likely came from him as well as Penelope among others. He was also present in the parking lot the day the police paid them all a visit at Stater Bros. Speaking of that, I guess now is as good a time as any to try to explain that to try to make sense out of that for everybody.
So back on February 13th, our stealth mole followed Jose to the Stater Bros parking lot. His trailer was empty that day, but it’s also the same day he brought Roxanne to auction and she ended up going home with Manson. Jose wasn’t the only flipper that met them there.
Just to be clear, neither of the voices on the above video are mine. They are stealth mole and let’s just say a `contact’. We were kind of back and forth about showing this, but since there has been all this talk about the police maybe only being there because of a fender bender we felt it best to show why they were there. They were there because selling horses in a parking lot is illegal. The pictures show Manson with the horse that had come out of Salvador’s trailer earlier in the day (believed to be Chino), taking his pictures and getting ready to beg for money just before the police rolled up. Regardless of what Manson claims about how `friendly’ it all was, it is illegal and it hasn’t gone unnoticed that she has gone to even greater lengths to hide her deals since this day including dragging the animals to a dirt road to film her tear jerking videos.
When the police rolled up, there was Jose, Pet Matchmaker, `Jason’ the hauler and Nacho all in the parking lot with Jose and Nacho’s trailers being empty. The police seemed mostly interested in HiCaliber but for whatever reason, the flippers scattered like the vermin they are.
As I have mentioned before, Nacho nearly had smoke on his heels he ran to his truck so fast, jumped in and got the hell out of dodge. Sadly, we only have still photos and no video because stealth mole kinda had her hands full at the time. I don’t recall which horse on the trailer was his, but if you recall, Nacho was the one responsible for Galle back in January. You can refresh your memory on the horrific condition she was in here. Nacho was also the one behind Mas, Magnum and so many others. Now that we’re all up to speed on the parking lot bust back in February, let’s jump back to last week and what happened after auction.
Despite Manson not being able to raise funds last week and the fact that all the horses that were sold through the ring were purchased by other rescues, Manson just couldn’t help herself. Unable to bitch that nobody else stepped up, she still managed to collect a full trailer of equines to drag back to the ranch. I know it’s hard to believe what Manson claims, especially when she’s trying to point fingers in other directions, but this time it appears to be true.
At some point well after auction, Manson rolled up to Wells Fargo with a full trailer. None of these animals have been introduced to the village idiots yet or even had their presence acknowledged which might make them easier to disappear. We know that Jose had a trailer full of horses after auction that he refused to sell to anybody that asked and the lame black private buyer horse they posted about ended up somewhere too. Manson likes to accuse people of not stepping up but how can they when they flippers are lying to them? Now that we have it out in the open that these horses exist, let’s see how long it takes Manson to come clean or what lies she spins to explain them.
Once A Little Rescue had the bagged up mare, now named Madre, checked over by the vet and confirmed that she had recently lost a foal, they reached out to HiCaliber to offer to purchase Emlyn. They were promptly told `no’ because the `private buyer’ wanted to keep her. Of course we know the `private buyer’ is likely fictitious and will probably donate the filly to HiCaliber once they are able to accept donations. What human, let alone a rescue, would deny a filly a mother? Too young to be disrupted? Really? Because hauling her back in a trailer with pigs and strange horses and then throwing her in a stall with in a strange place and not allowing her a bottle isn’t disruptive at all.
Speaking of the refusal to give this filly a bottle, here is Amanduh trying to get her to drink out of a bucket. Sound is off because of the child in the video and her mother saying her name. One of their recent excuses for not bottle feeding this filly is the claim that she may aspirate if she drinks with her nose above her body or something. I can’t recall the exact wording because it was so ludicrous. Look at any foal nursing from their mama and, last time I checked, their teats aren’t attached to their hocks. They have to reach up to nurse. It’s also probably a lot cleaner than Amanduh’s filthy paws swishing around in her dirty bucket. This poor little filly. By all reports there isn’t the same sign up and interest to sit around the clock with her that Magnum had.
While we’re on the subject of little Emlyn, here is a nice lie Amanduh told and no, I’m not referring to the private buyer one. The fact that she claims that this foal was saved from the slaughter pipeline was just crazy. Even IF she wasn’t Madre’s baby, this filly was not in the`pipeline’ They do not ship horses under six months of age to slaughter.
There are the guidelines from the USDA for horses shipping to slaughter. As you can also see, that the majority of horses that Manson gets from Salvador, Nacho, Misner and the others are not horses that would ship to slaughter. That isn’t ‘saying they aren’t horses that need some help from a legitimate rescue, key word being `legitimate’. Now that we’ve cleared that up, let’s clear up another myth Manson uses to create a sense of urgency and get people to dig deep.
If you listened to Manson and forgot that shipping horses for the purposes of slaughter is illegal in California, you would think that the number of horses going to slaughter is on the rise. Nothing could be further from the truth whether you are talking about Canada or Mexico. The numbers have steadily decreased each year. That might be useful to point out to Manson’s pro slaughter vet as well. Don’t even get me started with the village idiots. I guess this is what happens when Manson is your personal Wikipedia for all things equine. They really need to learn to broaden their horizons and aim higher. We still have a long ways to go in order to remove the threat of slaughter, but we are making headway and the last thing we need is Manson and her village idiots running around telling lies.
I wonder if the village idiots have noticed how few actual update posts they get now that Manson can’t beg money for awhile. Rather than use this time to make quality adoption videos or even update on any one of the 170 plus horses warehoused on their feedlot, she has turtled. Because of this, I thought I’d update people on Magnum. You hear Manson mention how fat he is getting when, in fact, he is sporting that bloated belly with no actual weight on his ass or shoulders. Likely it’s from the fact that they only feed him hay and he’s never received proper supplements or he’s full or worms. Probably both. From the looks of any super young baby that has actually survived at HiCaliber, they have no idea how to feed one and they all end up with this sad physique. He’s also being subjected to Amanduh’s version of halter training which seems to be designed to ensure he’s as rude as possible the bigger he gets as she allows him to either drag behind or wander out in front at full shank length.
Even though HiCaliber cannot openly beg for money and disperse assets, Amanduh’s for profit `business’ using HiCaliber horses, equipment and facilities continues unabated. For the minor fee of just $40 you too can learn how to crunch the shit out of a horse’s withers, tie a rope halter wrong and strap a child to the saddle. Awesome! And if that wasn’t enough for people, this past weekend she taught a groundwork class for the same fee. The horse she used was poor Shasta who had once upon a time been a private buy, only to be returned to the ranch not so long ago. She’s also kinda lame in this video. I’m not even sure WTF is going on here other than a lame horse being lunged on way too short of a line in the mud as she slips, slides and tries to stay upright as Amanduh shouts instructions from off camera. This level of ignorance is bad enough but the fact that she is inflicting it on rescue animals and teaching it to other neophyte horse people should be criminal. Amanduh needs to stick to the horses that only eat quarters outside of WalMart.
Now we come to the part of these posts I absolutely hate. Saying names. I have to admit I fell behind and I feel terrible about it. It gets overwhelming at the clip Manson is killing these past few months. Still, these horses deserve to be remembered and honored. Our first up is Andrina. She was but a blip on the village idiot radar as she was killed almost immediately. She was sore and appeared uncomfortable but I’m not sure she ever had real diagnostics done by a real vet. I wish I had more information about her to share. RIP. Andrina. #sayhername
Despite the dramatic back story she came with, Little Bear was from one of the usual suspects HiCaliber deals with. I’m not anti-euthanasia and I can see this mare probably needed a release. I’m against exploitation and increasing her suffering which is what happened to Little Bear. As Manson pontificated about knowing better and doing better, she also basically said she wouldn’t help this mare until funds were raised for diagnostics. Does anybody think this horse saw a vet? Any real rescue that saw this horse would get her help one way or another and not say, `only if we raise the funds, including the responsible rescue fees she will never use because we’re going to shoot her as soon as we get her home’. I’m not even going to get into the whole issue with the black pony in the picture with her showing up at auction that week and ending up at Baker Ranch. RIP Little Bear. #sayhername
I do not have a lot of information on Sahara or her death either. It has been confirmed she was recently killed but no details as to why. The fact she was relinquished almost exactly a year ago suggest that her time might have expired. RIP Sahara. #sayhername
Callie also passed without a mention recently. Purchased in the parking lot back in early December, she was deemed to be `remarkably sound’ in her intake video. That was basically the last mention there ever was of her before she left this earth. I wish I could say why or how. RIP Callie. #sayhername
Ruby Rose was one of the more upsetting cases lately. Even though Manson had said she was `neuro’ it appeared there was more to it than that. If anything she reminded me of a horse that had a head injury and it was upsetting to see them load this horse in a trailer to drag her all the way back to the ranch. Not surprisingly she went down in the trailer on the way back and was promptly shot in the head upon arrival. For all we know, her death may have triggered at least one or two others as Manson usually kills in pairs at the very least. At least Manson didn’t blame her death on haters even though she claimed Ruby Rose was having seizures. RIP Ruby Rose. #sayhername
Freedom was bought on March 5th. He appeared to have a blown suspensory among other issues and was not really able to bear weight on his injured limb. Manson mostly just referred to him as `the compassion’ pull as she made her tearful live feed at auction. This was shortly after the media shit storm had blown up so it was all very sad. What made me sad is the thought of this poor horse being rattled in a trailer the two plus hours back to Valley Center to meet his fate. What was actually in store for Freedom was so much worse than usual. Instead of being released from his suffering, Manson let him live until the reporter from the San Diego Union-Tribune came out to interview her. For whatever reason, he decided to simplify the problem adovocates have with HiCaliber and make it all about her euthanasia methods. As a result, Manson treated him to a little show on shooting a horse in the face with Freedom being the star. There was a dramatic picture of him laying on his side. The reporter waxed poetic about Freedom’s death march to the killing field, making sure to mention that they had to pause to shoot him up with `morphine’ so he could complete his journey. Then, Manson put on a great show of being sad and telling the horse she loved him before shooting him in the face. With that, Freedom had officially `earned his keep’ as an ambassador for taking a bullet to the brain. The reported didn’t mention where he came from and why people were allowed to abuse horses like that while Manson protects and covers for them. Instead he just allowed her to spew her propaganda without ever once asking a tough question. Ironically, this article came out shortly after Manson made the post about giving all the reporters hand jobs. RIP Freedom. #sayhisname
I’m sure by now, most of you have heard about the death of Blaze aka Blazing Idle. It was only on February 19th that Manson put up a placement post for her. She was dead shortly after that and that’s where it all gets a bit murky. We’ve all read about her former owner showing up to see her and being rather rudely and roughly treated by Amanduh while Manson hid in her house. The owners gave HiCaliber $1000 when they relinquished her. I’ve seen some people comment that that wouldn’t have paid for her upkeep for long and it was understandable that Manson shot her. Why is it that this owner had to pay $1000 to relinquish his horse but Manson will repeatedly pay people like Nacho and Salvador money to purchase their completely mutilated and mangled horses? Blaze was said to have gained weight and looked great at foster before being returned to the ranch and placed in south herd which ended up on hard QT, whatever that means. I’ve attached a post from her former foster mentioning about the quarantine and where Blaze had been moved to. How Manson treated her former owner, including attempt to throw him under the bus saying he only wanted her back to breed is beyond reprehensible. Even if that was true, is shooting her in the head better? I really don’t think so. RIP Blazing Idle. #sayhername
While we’re on the subject of mysterious reasons to kill a horse, these are all the times in the last year that Manson has claimed to have done a necropsy on various horses. In most cases she promises to keep people posted and updated once they get the results. I cannot recall her ever posting a necropsy result on a single one of these horses. Don’t forget it wasn’t that long ago she admitted she had only actually ever had one horse necropsied and that was awhile ago.
In lieu of promised updates on requested horses, Manson decided to finally post what passes for proof that Johnny Cade was actually cremated. This probably came about because people were mentioning they never got the hoof prints they paid for and there has always been some question whether or not he was actually cremated. Well, now we know there is a box with his name on it. I wonder where the rest of him is. I’ve had a horse cremated and there are a LOT of ashes involved. Much more than the box that Manson displayed. My horse had a very beautiful urn with a memorial plaque, and then the remainder of his ashes were in a cloth bag in a tote and were quite heavy. Even as emaciated as Johnny Cade was, there should be more left over than that small box. Given the other screen shots up above and Manson clearly displaying how little she values any animal, especially after dying, it wouldn’t be surprising if the additional ashes from Johnny Cade weren’t tossed in the manure pile. Then there is Manson saying to tractor a hole and I have to wonder how many unmarked graves are on that place. Creepy.
Here are a few recent posts about horses running loose at the ranch due to their shitty fences. The one post even mentions the escapees taking a tour through the QT area. That’s not even mentioning that at any given time they have studs waiting to be gelded or cryptorchids standing around who are also more than capable of getting a mare in foal. There have been a few `oops’ babies in the past there that the math didn’t quite work out for it to have happened anywhere other than since the mares got to HiCaliber. I believe Renley was one of them.
I thought this was an interesting post for a number of reasons not the least of which is the admission of strangles. Regardless of when she made this post, remember it was only recently that she said she had only ever had two horses test positive for strangles. I did block out the child exploitation part because even though Manson chooses to air her children’s personal issues all over social media, I don’t have to enable that.
As I was looking up a few things, I came across this post Manson made in 2014. It’s a pretty cool find as it shows how much of a complete 180 she’s done since moving to the new location. I wonder what the 2014 version of Manson would have to say to today’s incarnation. Not the least of which is that many of the things she attempts to discredit her detractors for are evident on this post; taking the word of former staff and owners, going by photographic evidence, telling people to be the eyes, ears and voice for the horses. All things she now claims have no validity. Then her promise that as a responsible rescue she is going to expose abuses and those people that support those `horrific conditions’ is just the icing on the hypocrite cake.
I think that’s pretty much all I have for today. It’s certainly not all I have sitting on my desk, but probably enough to wrap your minds around for now. I have to admit I feel frustrated. We’ve made our submission, things are rolling and really we should be able to coast a bit for now. Instead, Manson and her merry band of accomplices seem to be intent on digging their holes deeper. I personally believe things have gone long past the point of no return as far as Manson and the current board of directors and ranch residents goes, and I wonder why she continues to lie and hoard animals. It’s abundantly clear we’re onto her. She’s like the worst liar ever because she won’t commit to one version of events. Couple that with her verbal diarrhea and malignant personality and she gives us all so much to work with and still she figures she can outshift an army of advocates. One of her favorite whines lately is to say that she doesn’t think we, meaning the haters, meant for things to get this far. She’s wrong. This is exactly how far we meant for things to get and even further. We will not stand for her continued abuse and exploitation of vulnerable animals. We will no longer remain silent as she flaunts her hoarding and grifting in our faces. We will not look the other way as she protects, enables and covers for the very people that are abusing and mangling horses and, most importantly, we will be the voice for those animals and not allow them to be erased off the face of this earth. Welcome to the new world order Manson. It’s just about time for you to sing.
It is excruciating to read Manson’s medical assessments. Her befuddled approach leaves me with a feeling of dread. I would fire her in a nano second if she ever came to help diagnose and treat any horse of mine. I haven’t watched all the videos or read the screenshots, but as always, you have done an amazing job of putting together the back story.
As this wears on, I’m less and less able to listen to her for any length of time without wanting to stab myself in the ear with a letter opener.
I have to watch those videos w/ the volume down. I cannot bear to hear her voice, really I can’t do it.
I just cannot and I am pretty sure she does the cutesy flirty looks and whiddling voice on purpose.
I am sort of shocked right now that they are not online trying to whip the villagers into a frenzy. Guess they are trying to figure out how it will work.
I gave up up trying to explain to the people why the amount of the relinquishment did not matter.
If M required more to ensure the care of the horse for the rest of her life, she should have stipulated that. Instead, she took that amount in return for caring for the horse and promising a safe place for her and the possibility of finding a good home. The amount itself is irrelevant, it is the fact that that poor owner gave the funds in good faith, and M betrayed that trust.
I was shocked to see people on “our side,” supposedly questioning that the amount really wasn’t very much and would not support the horse’s care for very long.
Using that reasoning, any horse that M brought home without funds, would be entitled to be shot immediately because there were no funds for care. as well as the sick goats and pigs they they were “given.” Remember the shelter horses? What about them? They really should study the law before they claim to be acting in concert with the authorities. Research the laws. Know the laws. Use the laws correctly and make them work for the purpose you intend. Ignorance is not acceptable and won’t get you heard.
M’s going to be squirming as this information begins to trickle out, but as long as she keeps lying, she needs to expect that we will continue to release information to combat what she is saying. Real information, backed up by facts and figures and photos, and official documents. And for every lie she tells, that information goes directly to the authorities, who are piecing it all together, slowly but surely. For everything they ask her there is the truth, M’s version of the truth, and what she tells the villagers. As I have said before, telling the truth is pretty easy because there is only one truth to remember–and by sending in the videos and screenshots it enables the authorities to have that much more to question. And make no mistake, Manson–if certain authorities had not asked us to do so, we would simply sit back and let this investigation ride out as it may, trusting that the evidence we have presented was enough.
I hate the fact that it takes so long and that in the meantime, animals still continue to be exploited, abused, and even tortured, such as Granny Goat. These animals deserve to be recognized and remembered because sadly enough, the law will not recognize them as the individuals that they were to us, and the volunteers. #saytheirnames
I know rescue horses can be talented, but if their horses play Minecraft, then they need to market them on America’s Got Talent–cause I don’t know of anyone’s horse who can play Minecraft!
I thought the elephant who painted was pretty special stuff. Minecraft bring things to a whole new level!
The conclusion is that poor Blaze, who came with a $1000 endowment, got the same $0.15 bullet as the crippled horses she buys for $200 from her tripper friends.
The Pug video seals the coffin for me on M’s cruelty and her normalizing of cruelty to her giggling kid. Children’s services needs to get involved. Maybe they will do more than animal services has seen fit to do.
I am trying very hard not to place blame on this kids because they have grown up with a monster for a mother. I am forever thankful I was raised by people who not only loved animals but respected them too. I sound like a broken record but I don’t think Manson should be allowed to even have a guppy.
I finally broke and watched the clip of Manson singing about shooting horses. Oh! I was so impressed by her talented smug self. *Sarcasm* I don’t understand this self proclaimed edginess. When I first started watching I thought it was just their thing to draw attention but they never stopped bitching and whining about anything!
Whoa! Nellie! I got off on a tangent… I think we’re pushing it with a guppy we might have to cull the thrift stores for stuffed animals and even then I might be afraid for them.
I would think that *someone* is a mandated reporter among the “village” and/or the volunteers that frequent the ranch… Maybe someone like that was who sent CPS to their house (if M was telling the truth) months ago. If it was, I hope they are continuing to pay close attention to the situation. I feel for every innocent being on that property that has no choice in what happens to them. I say a little prayer for the kiddos and animals every night. I figure they need ALL the help they can get.
And, HiCaliber advertises sponsoring horses for 15/ month. 1000 will go a long way.
Some people cannot afford to give money with their relinquished horses. The amount shouldn’t make any horses life less worthy. If a person donates $1,000 that is a help period. It doesn’t seem to me that he though she was going to be hard to adopt out. Honestly, who knows what type of song and dance Manson gave this guy. What she did was morally wrong if not illegal no matter what $$$ was given.
That post from her from 2014. Wow.
I remember after she got the Fallen herd, she made a big long wordy post discussing the fact that the founder of the rescue the Fallen herd came from had commented on one of the HC posts about the horses. M waxed eloquently, wondering how the woman had chosen which horses to feed and which horses to starve. And wondering how the woman could sleep at night with the starving horses crying for food. Hey M, bet you can answer your own questions now huh. Just unbelievable the complete transformation from “caring rescuer” to total scummy grifting greedy F***.
I believe she really must be getting scared now. She has to know it is all ending.
What causes you to consider she has not always acted like the hoarder of fallen or Starlight? You don’t just change to be brutal and detached. It has to grow. Don’t you think? I don’t know – just seeing the suffering would have made me vow to NEVER get to that point and I have on a personal level. But as the leader of a rescue – don’t you think that your education would have been identifying lines which you would never cross?
I’m just asking because I do not give her one inch of mercy for what we have discovered (thanks to the hellish work of Shedrow and her informants) she has been doing as a “fall from grace”. She has been of that mind since the start is what I sensed; a cold calculating bitch who gladly sent horses to their doom.
But I am open to thoughts of considered compassion on her behalf. It will be important that prosecutors have the right prospective and not fall under the spell of that witch.
Even if she just started to go astray don’t you think her Buddy Kat, who educates the public on hoarding, should have somehow put her in check?
Let me be clear, I think once a grifter always a grifter. People don’t often change. Some can and do, but it is very rare.
I think the Fallen herd put the $$$$ signs in M’s head and showed her a new way to grift in a much grander fashion. I think that the care the horses received in 2014 was better than it is now (by far).
But no, I don’t think she meant what she said on her impassioned, thought provoking post. I think she has become what she said of the original “rescue” that had the fallen herd. I don’t think she was quite there yet when she made that post.
Does that make any sense? I’m rambling.
Your not rambling and I wasn’t trying to criticize just writing what I was thinking. I’ve always thought she was crooked just couldn’t put the words to it like you did.
Oh no worries, I didn’t take your comments as critical of me. I totally get what you’re saying. 😉
😀 I’m glad.
Shed, thank you once again for piecing together some of this giant clusterfuck. Once again, a giant shoutout and thank you to all the moles!
Following
Totally busted on the bank statements but the one from the dog trainer is a donation not a payment
Thanks for catching that. I have let Shed know.
Any idea why she would buy a trailer full of horses last week and not mention it?
Because technically with the freeze on their funds they are not allowed to move assets in or out of the place. Horses are considered an asset.
Thank you Watching. I guess it’s just hard for me to believe Manson would buy horses without any way to try to make money on them. I guess it all goes back to the fact that she is a hoarder. I just don’t understand that mentality so it’s hard for me to imagine.
Well,we are working to get the authorities to realize that by purchasing the horses, they are assets–there is a legal leg on which to stand on. However, as long as she is making no public stance regarding fundraising, they won’t take action if she brings horses in.
However, I think in this case there are a couple of possibilities. A) She truly is delusional enough to believe that she thinks that this is going to all blow on over soon and B) what’s a few more horses to show pictures of at a later date and claim that they “just came in,” after she expects her status to come back into compliance and allow her to fundraise again? The magnitude of what is going on has not struck her at all.
Her going into delinquent status had nothing to do with permit issues, failure to file a mere “form,” nor is it based upon the fact that she had not filed her 2016 990’s. If she wants proof of that, take a look at how long it took them to place her into delinquent status in 2017 regarding her 2013 paperwork, and there are hundreds of others of charities out there who are not in delinquent status yet despite not filing things for a number of years. Until something is brought to their attention, State and federal officials are notoriously lax when it comes to such matters. The fact of the matter is that other matters were brought to their attention and as soon as they looked at her organization, the first thing that they saw was that they were not in compliance, hence the delinquency notice. Then most of us were aware that once that happened, one of the first things they would require is that she bring her paperwork up to date–but because other matters had been brought to their attention, that gives them the chance to take a closer look at things.
I honestly think that she truly does believe that this will all blow over soon and that she will be released to go on with business as usual, so she continues to bring horses home in preparation for fundraising, despite the fact that we know she has never really stopped asking for funds as evidenced by the requests for checks as gifts.
“What does the Attorney General investigate?
Some of the problems frequently investigated by the Attorney General include:
self-dealing transactions either between a director and the public benefit corporation, or by trustees;
loans by a corporation to a director or officer;
loss of substantial corporate funds or assets during one year;
losses of charitable assets through speculative investments;
excessive amounts paid by a public benefit corporation or charitable trust for salaries, benefits, travel, entertainment, legal and other professional fees;
sale of a charity or conversion of a public benefit corporation to for-profit status (authorized by statute under restricted conditions) at a price that is unfair to the charity;
illegal use of charitable funds; and diversion of charitable funds from their intended purpose
And this statement might give you an idea of just what it took to get the AG interested.
“What can I expect when I submit a complaint to the Attorney General’s Office about a charity or a charitable solicitation?
The Attorney General’s Office receives thousands of inquiries and complaints from the general public, news reporters, and other interested parties regarding possible mismanagement or diversion of charitable assets. All complaints about charities are reviewed by the audit staff of the Attorney General’s Charitable Trusts Section. An investigation is conducted in those cases in which there is reliable evidence of a diversion of assets or gross mismanagement resulting in a significant financial loss to the charity. ”
In other words–a significant amount of evidence had to be provided in order to get the Attorney General to act, it is nothing as simple as “haters complaining.”
She was asked by a villager about adoptions during this freeze of assets and she said they were given permission to adopt out. But bringing more in has to be a huge NOPE.
What is to stop them if they don’t publicly fundraise?
Let me amend that. There is nothing on the Delinquency notice which says that she cannot bring horses in–the issue is with fundraising itself. Now we all know that people are attempting to fundraise and claim it is a gift.
Then we have the “passive solicitations” because the “please donate” buttons are still up on the website and Instagram accounts, which will be sent in this morning.
The County is at a standstill right now and not moving forward with permit issues, but no real enforcement of whether or not she brings in even more horses in–so therefore, there is nothing out there that we can see that states that they cannot bring horses in.
Assuming she got more horses last week, how did she pay for them?
If they came from her regular vendors she may have bought them on the cuff.
Thanks D — I had that thought too regarding the horses M brought in. They’re going to show up in a few weeks or whatever as “…the owner dropped them off with us… blah blah …”
It’s a pattern of behavior for her and not the first time it has happened, I’m sure. That horse showed up after auction on the HiCaliber private buyer’s page for about 5 minutes before they deleted it.
Because she’s not allowed to raise funds for them yet and maybe planned on being able to within a day or two? I really don’t know. Why do any hoarders hoard?
The fact that she still took horses back to the ranch without fundraising or posting publicly about them shows that she is 100% a hoarder. Even if you can’t fund-raise, why not share the information? Why not try to network the horses to someplace that isn’t supposedly trying to downsize??
Jamie: I don’t get that either… unless she raised money for them privately but I don’t see any secret group of loyalists being able to raise enough. She has definitely become a hoarder of the worst kind. I know the AG, IRS and/or DA are focusing on the money since that is the prosecutable crime but I hope they are taking into account the misery of the horses the longer this takes to end.
Probably not. What they see are facts and figures, even when reminded of why we are making this stand. I assume that many of them have never even seen a horse, or understand the emotional attachment to them that we do.
Do the authorities have the Venmo accounts? Or all the PayPal ones? We all know they play fast and free with more than one or two accounts.
Yes, they do.
Maybe her cruel soul is jonesing for a shooting spree. Her version of compassion. She may have dragged them there so she can kill them so she has an emotional release.
If that black horse they advertised for $700 was part of that, he’s a likely candidate for the tarp as he was very sore.
Still doesn’t make sense, has it slipped her mind that she STILL should get her numbers down?
I have such a huge problem with people who should know better who buy dogs from breeders.I have never called myself a rescuer but my dogs have all come from shelters. Michelle worked in AC euthing unwanted dogs and she doesn’t get it? I know two veterinarians in my area who bought from breeders, ….I absolutely am judging that!! What the fuck is wrong with people ? If you must have a specific purebred dog then why not adopt from a rescue that works with your breed? Humans are so disappointing. So many unwanted pets dumped every day……heartbreaking
She probably wanted a dog with papers to breed.
I think there was actually some mention of that at one time. The dog is not spayed.
I don’t judge buying from reputable breeders as an individual. I am completely ok with supporting ethical breeding and for people that show dogs or complete them, they can’t always find what they need at a rescue. One of my dogs comes from a breeder because he does compete and he was health checked screened for genetic conditions. That was important to me. Having said that, I am not a rescue and didn’t fund-raise or embezzle to pay for him. My other dog is a rescue.
I agree Shed. My purebred came from a reputable breeder that tested for special ailments and diseases specific to that breed. She studies their genetics and knew what dog to breed to what dog. Her waiting list is 2 years long. She is a senior show judge. She improves the breed by showing and competing in various disciplines with them. And most important…she will take back any dog that she has ever bred regardless of age and/or problems with health. My other 3 dogs came from rescues. 2 of them were foster failures.
I have nothing against purchasing from a reputable breeder that does their due diligence, tests for all genetic conditions within that breed and openly states the results and breeds to improve the breed not to attempt to make money from puppies. I have registered dogs, cats, horses and cattle. I have bred all four species but always with an eye to improvement. I have shown all four species (cat shows are a hoot). I have also have had (and do have) rescue cats, dogs and horses and even an old way past her prime dairy cow that was nothing but a pet that I bought at an auction (I’m a sucker for Guernseys). I depends on what your plans are for that animal and the care and love you can give it. Rescue animals can have a multitude of genetic and hidden health conditions that can end up costing the owner $$$$$$$$$$$$ be cause they don’t have that information. I will be eventually looking for another service dog to train myself and I already know which breeder I will be using simply because I KNOW their program and their dogs. Rescue dogs do make fabulous service animals but you don’t have the health back story on them and a service animal must be healthy in body and mind. We have 1.5 rescue horses, 2 rescue cats and 2 toy poodles one is a rescue. I hope no one puts down responsible breeders, they have their place.
Yes,I agree with you on that. I have my 19 year old mix breed cat at vet now getting his teeth done. I have pure breed cats and dogs as well. I have papered horses and unpapered. Currently showing my Dane. Have done cat shows too. But I do not breeding of my animals for fear of where they would end up. I leave that stuff to people who know what they are doing. I will not contribute to the over population problem. What kind of cats did you show eselcooper?
My cat is 19 as well. You would never now it though. Runs around like a kitten and abuses and intimidates my dogs.
You know the kind of breeding I have a problem with is people who breed mutts and want to charge an arm and a leg. I love most dogs. I love certain breeds. I think Labradoodles are pretty darn cute but don’t get the hype at all. How about those little munchkin cats? Adorable! But to breed a cat for those stubby little legs seems a bit unfair.
Trying not to sound all preachy but those things do bother me a bit.
Me, too. I recently encountered a pitbull page that really pissed me off. Don’t get me wrong, I love the breed–but this page is a kennel breeding something called Toadline bullies and they are breeding fathers to daughters, brothers, sisters, etc to get that horrible look –and in addition to that, when there is that much inbreeding, those dogs are going to have physical problems and perhaps mental, as well and perpetuate the stereotype that they are horrible dogs.
And of course I live in the South, where people refuse to spay and neuter, and then when their dog is bred by the neighbor’s whatchamacallit, they slap a combination of names on it like a Labradoodle and attempt to sell it as a designer dog . Ugh.
The neighbors at my Mom’s house in the 80’s had some scary pit bulls and quite frankly the neighbors were a little scary too. So I haven’t been super secure around those guys. I think some are very handsome but I kinda ball up inside when I get a particularly friendly individual. I know they aren’t horrible dogs. I guess I always worry about their training and breeding.
That’s another component of responsible breeders that BYB don’t take into account. They need to be judged on temperament, conformation, trainability, intelligence, etc but instead BYB’s say “I have a (insert breed here, not just bullies) and want to make babies.” Breeding anything and everything is a problem, and humans fail them in that respect, as well as multiple other aspects.
Thanks for understanding. Your exactly right. I have a mutt that someone bred to make Christmas money. I found her on Craigslist because I couldn’t find the right fit at the humane society. I love her to death but she’s weird and she does snap when scared or irritated. Makes me wonder what her parents were like and what her first few weeks were like.
I have a dog here that came from death row (in Lancaster) he was 9 when I got him and he was a mess. I am HIS person. If he gets put in a situation where he feels trapped (like someone bending down in front of him to pick him up) he bites, mostly the men. My son and the Hubs are not fond of him at all but, the poor guy has been through so much and I owe it to him to give him the best life he can have.
I guess my whole point there is that often rescues come with a lot of emotional baggage
Isn’t that the truth. This dog is a big love bug most of the time but she has her quirks. It can’t be all perfect all the time.
I have quirks, too, and I’m not even a rescue. I’m fortunate that my honey puts up with me!
The mark of a good owner, and a good friend–is loving and accepting their quirks, and doing the best you can to understand and work with them, and not giving up.
I’m beyond quirky I’m downright weird some days.😮 I try and there are days I wish I could plaster a smile on my face and be Sandra Dee instead of a drill instructor or screeching harridan. Lol! One of the few good things about social media is that I now know I’m truly not alone in feeling this. 😄
My boss bred show Staffies. Awesome dogs and very sweet.
Those are cute dogs. 😃
Just shitty owners usually.
Ugh, I just looked up Toadline Bullies. That’s obscene what they’re doing.
It’s kinda like D says they are their own uncle. Lol
Yup!
I agree with you on those points. I loathe the designer mutt business. I actually cut a friend loose over it. I just couldn’t get on board with that. I think whatever animal you are breeding should be of superior quality and be advancing its breed. I’m not into breeding unpapered horses either. I find it ironic that Manson talks about bad backyards and the shoots a horse like Blaze claiming her former owner wanted to breed her again. Manson IS a bad backyard. She bred her mares and then didn’t even bother to register the foals that could be registered. WTF on that? Anybody that thinks she’s really into rescue need only look at her practices with her personal animals and to realize she’s not in rescue because she cares about animals.
Anybody that has ever been a real rescue would never breed anything.
I think how some of these dog and cat breeders work is disturbing. Even reputable breeders often have crated under socialized animals. Maybe I haven’t met a true reputable breeder. Maybe I’ve just met those who have good linages but are still put out a large amount of animals.
I love the looks a well bred animal but I worry that some breeds, even with all the testing, are becoming too pure. I’m not a geneticist but it seems that after awhile that family tree won’t branch. You would know better though. I think you’ve taken repro classes?
I think what Manson did with her own horses is wrong. Let us put the papered issue to the side and look at what else she hasn’t done. These horses sit with no handling or training and basically their existence is a waste. I’m not saying they shouldn’t exist, I’m saying they need trained and they need a job. If Manson can’t get off her ass and do that she should never throw stones. She is the worst of the bad backyard breeder.
Have you ever met any Doodles, NDTCA? I wish I could show you all of mine and introduce you so you’d understand. I come from a huge Doodle-loving family – 3 golden doodles, a cockapoo, a maltipoo, a labradoodle, a schnoodle, and a giant schnoodle. As a long-time doodle owner myself, I can vouch that the hype is warranted. 🙂 Just as warranted as the hype people assign to their preferred purebred or mutt-mix of choice. As they say, to each his/her own. I also own a purebred, pedigreed dog from a breeder – a Great Dane. I also grew up with a show-quality Doberman Pinscher and a pet-quality Standard Poodle. They’re *ALL* incredible in their own ways. IMO, it’s not so much the dog breed or combination of breeds but the breeders and how responsible they are (or aren’t). I’ve adopted from the humane society and purchased from breeders. It’s not easy to find the most reputable breeders (Doodle-breeders especially) because there is an overabundance of money-grubbing greeders, but good ones do exist. They’re 100% worth searching for and waiting (sometimes years) for one of their pups.
Now I’m all nostalgic about my very first Doodle – a 100-pound Golden Doodle (Golden Retriever/Standard Poodle) named Harry. He never met a creature he didn’t love. Funny story… I came home (alone) from school one day and noticed that a pair of high heels that I was 100% certain were left on the stairs were haphazardly laying in our back hallway. I called my mom at work to ask if she had moved them. My blood ran cold when she said she had seen them on the stairs. Long story short, we later found out that our neighbor’s three-year old daughter (1 of 10 kids) had been playing dress-up IN our house WITH Harry. The neighbors ended up seeing Harry and the little girl through the windows in our living room while they were out searching the neighborhood for her. Harry was probably a better babysitter than many humans – I mean, he never lost track of her like her parents and siblings did! 😉 Don’t judge Doodles too harshly. Many are worth their weight in diamonds. ❤
I think it just the point of it is a so called designer breed. If you think about it a mixed breed breeders are making money off hand over fist. I guess if your going to get a mix might as well get on from a rescue or shelter. They have multipoos c -poos every day of the week. I read a article about the man that was the first breeder of the doodles he said he regretted doing it and wished he had never bred that mix. It was done so people that are allergic to labs could then have a service dog like for blind or deaf type of service dog. Then the greed set in and people went crazy to make a buck.
I’m aware of that article and understand what he is saying. Too late to take it back now, though. I must admit, my life would be completely different if I had never met my Harry – and not for the better. So, in my opinion, it’s now about finding those who breed (any breed – “designer” or not) responsibly. I just don’t believe in condemning an entire breed/group (Doodles, Doodle-lovers and/or breeders) based on the transgressions of the dumbest members of the group. I prefer to take things on a breeder by breeder basis.
I adopted my Maltipoo when she was 11-years-old from the Humane Society. I purchased my soon to be 13-year-old Cockapoo from a breeder. I love all of my animals regardless of how they came to me and they each have their own challenges and assets unique to them and the situations from which they came. When I get a dog, no matter the breed, no matter how I got them, I love them and care for them in any and every way they need for their entire lives. That’s what it all comes down to in the end.
Yes and that’s the way it should be.
There are know crosses that are awesome. I liken it to the Anglo-Arabs, Iberian Warmbloods and things like that. It’s called hybrid vigor. The designer breeds I’m talking about is these puppy mill types that breed for `cute’ so chipooshitzyorkie or something like that. Lots of these dogs end up with all kinds of issues and health problems but cost $1000 or more because they are adorable puppies. I have a huge problem with that.
Agreed. My dad found a giant schnoodle breeder who breeds and shows both poodles and giant schnauzers and then breeds only the champions from each breed to get the giant schnoodles. The number of litters she has are small too. I was really impressed with her. Good breeders are out there for the doods, but you most likely will have to go out of state or even across country to find them.
Yup!
Lol! Great story with Mr. Harry! It’s not the Labradoodle dog at all. They are good dogs. I’ve met a couple. 😃 I think it’s always been about the high cost applied to a cross breed. I believe now they are recognized by the AKC but in the beginning it was an interesting idea that a ton of backyard breeders and reputable breeders took advantage of. I’m not a purist by any means as I think many animals have become over bred so “co-mingling” the breeds helps mix it up.
I guess I’m not the type of person to spend a few hundred dollars on any specific breed. I do love Danes and I love St. Bernards. But most of my animals over the last few years have been from the humane society or dumped by their owners.
I hope that makes better sense? There’s a few more things floating around my head that I’m having trouble putting words to. Like I think there are plenty of incredible dogs floating around rescues and humane societies that many people don’t give a chance before they buy a specific breed and many of the rescues are breed specific. Kinda of like when 100 Dalmatians rebooted a few years ago and people raced out to buy one and within a few weeks humane societies had an abundance of Dalmatians needing homes.
Now I’m off my soapbox. 😃
It all makes sense. 🙂 People will always do stupid things (cough,M et al,cough), and I just try to avoid those people when it comes to my animals. When I got Harry, back in 2001, he was only $500. Our humane society’s adoption fees are that much for a puppy of unknown origin or breed. But now the Doodle prices *are* ridiculous at $2k+ . I looked into a Bernedoodle Breeder in Canada and her dogs are $5500 with a 5 year waiting list. That I cannot justify.
Your fees at a humane society are $500 for a puppy? Is any of the reimbursable? I haven’t looked for a few years but locally it seemed as if there was the adoption fee then a fee That was given back one you had your pet spayed or neutered. I think the total cost was around $300. Still pricey but…
Wow! $5,500?
Nothing reimbursable. And only one price/fee. Maybe tax deductible? I’m not sure. All the puppies are spayed and neutered before they go home.
And yes, $5,500. She has an incredibly upscale facility and massive operation (Timber Ridge Bernedoodles, if my memory serves me right . At least one sees where one’s money is used but I can’t justify that much money for any pup.
When I was looking around for a new dog, I was googling and reading on different breeds. I was checking out some Shnauzer’s and came across a “Party Shnauzer.” For $1,000.00 you could have an un papered Shnauzer/Aussie cross.
Seriously? I guess if you make up a cool name for the `breed’ you can charge anything. Not sure how that cross would even work personality wise. Aussies can be pretty high drive and many Shnauzers I’ve encountered are kinda cranky. Does that mean you have a dog that is hyper and bitchy?
Who knew? Basically M is a Party Schnauzer
@RRR, lmfao!!! I love how my phone changed the spelling in my above post!!!
LOL
I did not buy one. I didn’t need a hyper crazy dog. I don’t know much about Schnalzer’s. I also prefer a Boarder Collie over an Aussie but I bought a super overbread neurotic Rott 🤦♀️ I did my due diligence and asked all the right questions, followed them for two years, etc. it was after the fact (when papers came,) that I realized they had switched the damn out to a different one. Now I have a Prozac mini horse, whom I neutered at 4 months because of aggression. I hate breeders!!
Yikes! I like the looks on Rotties and they can be good dogs but they’re not for me. I hope your guy settled down.
The vet says he will out grow it at about 4 years old. That’s 1yr and 3 months. He isn’t as aggressive anymore BUT he is a dog. He has the most rainbow colored pooo that I HAVE ever seen and always runs a circle to the left. I have had his ears checked monthly because I am paranoid like that. Vet and trainer say he will put grow it, time will tell. I should have just bought/rescued a Lab, I guess. I didn’t want to deal with anyone else’s problems and this is my karma. 🤷♀️
Huh… Weird how he runs a circle to the left. My horse is better behaved free lunging to the right and gets squirrelly going right.
Never thought about lunging him myself, I may have to try it, lol. Maybe if he goes to the right he will calm down. 🤷♀️
Hahaha!
Yikes! That dog is at least lucky that he ended up with somebody willing to work with his issue and not turn him into a dangerous mess. Rottis are another breed that gets a bad rep because of idiots that need to have them for the wrong reasons. I’ve got friends that have had them and they were really nice dogs in the right hands. Just like any other dog.
Exactly, I do choose my children over his short comings. Somehow we meet in the middle. I don’t choose to be someone elses’s problem either. I just have a lot of rules and they work for today. Lol
Omg! That’s funny! All that for $1,000!
And bark a lot.
As with anything it’s a supply and demand industry. When I was a kid we got our dog (purebred) for about $100. If I wanted to be the same breed and type it would be around $1000 because it’s a popular breed. At one time I totally wanted a Brussells Griffon but there is no way I could justify that expense for a dog like that given my lifestyle. I still love them. I’ve noticed Frenchies are off the hook expensive now and everybody is scrambling to breed them so a lot of issues are getting bred into them. Maybe in a few years they will fall out of a favor and another breed will be all the rage with everybody breeding.
Love the Frenchies but lots of health issues with that breed and tons of backyard breeders trying to cash in also.
Ditto. I don’t know how anyone who euthanized dogs due to overpopulation could stomach buying from a breeder. Obviously someone who has no conscience and lacks the critical thinking to connect the dots.
Not to mention she also bought a kitten from a breeder. Cats get killed ten fold to the amount of dogs in shelters. That one really bothered me the most.
A kitten that didn’t live very long once she brought it home. 😦
Don’t get me started Shed!
In defense of people that work at shelters the majority of the dogs we euthanize at the no kill shelter I volunteer at are NOT purebred. They are 99% Mixed breed (shepherd/lab) and or bully breed. 99% of the time it is for aggression.
I have a particular breed of dog that I love and I want to see it’s bloodline last. Without good reputable ethical people breeding what will happen to this breed of dog? Ask around at any AKC dog show and you will find most of the top lines have to import dogs from the Ukraine. I have to wonder also if these aren’t much different from our puppy mill type facilities as you can find almost any breed being imported. It’s happening because the gene pool gets smaller and smaller. I believe irresponsible breeding is the detritus to all. At the shelter I work I bust my rear to help photograph the incoming dogs to get them up on the website to be tagged for rescue or adopted. The supply is never ending as our city can’t seem to figure out how to enforce their own laws.
I know this is a hot topic so just to be clear, I have one purebred neutered unregistered dog that I “rescued” (I did not pay a breeder, I took him in from a previous owner when he was 15-18 months old). I have one awesome cat (adult) that I adopted from the shelter where I work for free/volunteer.
The issue with Michelle and her purebred pug is that she is neither responsible or ethical.
Bless you for what you do in regards to photographing, etc in order to make them even more adoptable.
I have absolutely no problem with reputable breeders and responsible breeding. I appreciate being offered one of my friend’s Cleveland Bays, because she is an ethical breeder and there are less than 500 of the breed still in existence to this day. As you mentioned, the gene pools are shrinking, so if I were younger and in better shape to handle a foal and training, I would consider breeding the horse to a superior physical specimen who also provided an outcross, even if I had to ship semen across the world. I can sympathize those wanting a particular line to last, but only if they are breeding the best specimens–I have a problem with people breeding anything simply because a particular line is in its pedigree (I’m not saying you, but you know what I mean, I am sure.)
My problem lies in so many of these backyard breeders looking to make a quick buck (which I am sure is the same across the world) , as opposed to the betterment of the breed–and nothing that M does gives me any reason to believe that she would breed for anything other than money. I pray daily to TPTB in the hopes that something we have provided will be enough to convince the authorities that she should not own any animal, not just horses. and issue something to that effect. I don’t believe that can, or will happen–but it doesn’t stop me from praying for it and working towards it every chance I get. As mentioned before, animal cruelty laws need to be more heavily applied than a simple “if they have food and water there is nothing that we can do,” and they need to be backed up with harsher sentences. I remember one case we worked on had a 501c3 with multiple dead horses found on her property, paid for with donor funds, and a local Sheriff who wanted her to be prosecuted. Instead, the DA cut a deal with her before the Sheriff arrived at the courthouse and her case was considered resolved with time served (she spent 11 days in jail) and a small fine.
I think that if people began serving a few months in jail for cases of animal neglect and cruelty, they might begin thinking twice about letting it happen again–and perhaps it might encourage more people to begin taking advantage of some of the low cost spay/neuter programs across the country, or quit breeding horses so that their kids can “see the miracle of birth,”(yes, I’ve seen that one) or breeding the horse just because they think they are “pretty,” or to simply make an easy buck because people think they foals are cute and then when they bring them home they discover it is a lot more work than they thought and leave the horse untouched in a field. There are so many ways in which this hot button topic needs to be handled differently, but it starts and ends with lax laws and poor management/oversight.
Depends on the breed you are talking about. Great Danes from the Ukraine are typically of very poor quality as they lean toward the hypertype (everything overdone). I have incredibly strong opinions on Great Danes as that is “my breed” but since it can be a touchy subject I’ll leave it alone. I’d just advise anyone remotely interested in the GD breed to research, research, research and READ THE BREED STANDARD (there is only one despite what some may say).
Can I ask what breeder do you get your Danes from? Just curious no big deal. Have own Danes for about 30 years.
I don’t feel comfortable saying my preferred breeder (from whom I will get my next puppy) on here for obvious reasons but Shed has my email if you want to connect that way.
I only have one Great Dane. I’m newer to the breed but I love it. I don’t have to tell you why since you already know. I will never be without at least one. And if my situation were different right now I’d absolutely have more than one.
My current Dane is pet-quality from well-meaning but ignorant, one-time breeders. Let’s just say I’ve learned A LOT the hard way. Probably why I’m so opinionated on the subject; I’m living the consequences of someone’s irresponsible and poorly thought out breedingg. They talked a good game and answered my questions as I would have hoped. But I didn’t know allllllll the questions I should have asked, despite doing a lot of research before buying. I don’t think they even knew what they should have asked before breeding. Just like with horses, there is always more to learn.
Ok, I will ask Shed for your email. I have only one also but will be looking for another soon. I did find a good breeder also. I have two old greyhounds also from a good breeder they are pretty wonderful too! 😁
I love greyhounds. I’ve always wanted to adopt a couple of retired racers. They are such sweet dogs. I also would love to give a retired fox-hunting hound a home but I know I don’t have the energy for a hound dog right now. They’re on my doggy bucket list. lol – I guess my problem is I want them all… Doodles and Heinz 57s and Great Danes and Greyhounds and, and, and… But I’m not a hoarder and I know my limits – even if I sometimes need reminders from friends and family not to adopt every dog. lol
Me too… 😉
I’ve heard that many retired Greyhounds are very content couch potatoes once they are socialized. Very neat dogs.
Yes they are. Greyhounds are sprinters not endurance runners. Unlike a whippet they are not hyper. They are often referred to as a 45 mile and hour couch potato.
👍🏻
Everybody will need to remind me in their emails of their screen names. I don’t turn on that function unless i have to ban somebody because I like for everybody to have their privacy as much as possible.
I love Danes. My only issue with them is they don’t live nearly long enough, but they sure seem to be cool dogs going by the ones friends have had.
They’re starting to live longer! I know of a handful of 14 year old Danes. ❤ That's another reason to find a responsible breeder and ask the typical lifespan of their breeding dogs and their offspring.
I belly laugh every single day at least once because of my Dane. He is a total clown. Seriously the goofiest dog I've ever owned.
What color is your Dane? I think I can guess already by your comment.
He’s a harlequin. How about yours?
I knew a vet tech who worked at a clinic in Nevada, who used to treat Red Fox from Sanford and Son’s Harlequins.
Is it true Harlequins are more aggressive than the other Danes?
I have heard that theory but I’m not sure of its validity. My boy exhibits fear-based aggression at times. He also has a very high prey drive. But I know of other harlequins who wouldn’t hurt a fly. 🤷🏻♀️ My next Dane will be a fawn. I’m very interested to see the difference. Don’t get me wrong, I love my boy like crazy, but his wiring isn’t totally right. He has a mild case (so far) of Wobblers so I think that contributes to a lot of his issues. I’ve spent many, many sleepless nights trying to figure him out and make sense of things so I can help him. He’s been my most challenging dog for sure. But still one of my favorites. I think it’s that whole “you get the dog you need, not necessarily the dog you want” thing. He has taught me A LOT over the last five years.
Interesting… I knew a Dane in the past that appeared to be allergic to every damn dog food prescribed and otherwise. I wonder now if he would have faired better on a raw diet.
I had heard that Harlequins were bred to be more aggressive because they were more specialized in what they were hunting. I think there was a tidbit in there that there coloring was favored by a German king.
I’m a huge proponent of raw. That’s all I feed. 👌🏼 My boys love it.
Your lucky regarding his wobblers the blue merle Dane I spoke about before had it and I had to put him down at 3 years old.
Aww, I’m so sorry. That really sucks. So far Walter has been doing really well with some low dose meds. I’m hoping and praying it stays mild.
Ah, I knew it. As soon as you said your dog was goofy and a clown. They are more so then the other colors. I had one also was my first Dane. Crappy breeder but awesome dog. I currently have a Brindle girl she is like my daughter, goes everywhere with me. My real daughter hates when I say that. She moved out and I was sad so she says I got Rose to fill the void. Lol
That’s a problem because…?
Awww, I love her name!
My friends had a Dane and he would put your arm in his mouth and lead you around. He was very gentle about it. Maybe that was his way of holding hands or something. I think he was a rescue dog for them and I remember him having a lot of digestive issues she had him on probiotics things for. Beautiful animal though and very sweet.
My sister, bless her heart rescues the Grey/gray Harlequins. They all come with blue eyes and are deaf. They always gently hold your hand and lead you around. The annoying part is that they can never hear you!!! ❤️❤️
That’s so sad
My second Dane was a blue merle gray with black spots. He was given to me. He was sweet and very back yard bred. He could hear just fine. Usually the white ones with blue eyes are deaf. Kinda like white cats with blue eyes.
That’s exactly what they are. I never get the name right. They are so smart, if you had their attention you could use sign language with them. It has carried over to every dog we have owned. Poor Dad he has 3 girls and we all have always had two or more dogs a piece. I think he is happy that we are grown up and have our own houses now 😂😂. Her last Dane was there for the first three babies and he was an amazing “babysitter.” Miss that guy.
My Dane lead me around like that too. Miss him a lot. He was beautiful and finished his championship in No time.
I didn’t realize that was a Dane thing. So sweet.
With all of this discussion on dog breeds I decided that I couldn’t let this go any further without mentioning the best breed of them all-
The Golden Retriever!
The are very nice dogs. I actually don’t hate any dog. Much like horses, I can find something to appreciate about all of them.
Our first Golden was in 1988, she was $275. Then our second was in 1998, he was a $600 dog, sired by a champion. Our most recent, Tia, was exceptional, even for a Golden, she came to us in 2006 with a price tag of $850. We lost Tia just over 2 years ago to Cancer. I’m still mourning her loss.
The next Golden puppy is being researched, the best 2 options are $1,800 and $2,500. The more expensive puppies are from a sire who has been cleared of any genetic issues as well as having a clear disease panel (No cancer markers was the part that stood out to me) and the litter’s full siblings are getting points at 9 months old.
I love almost all breeds. I take issue with yappy chihuahuas though, my Grandmother ruined those dogs for me. Sorry.
I kinda like hairless chihuahuas actually. They don’t really fit in with my life and I’ll never have one but I think they’re cute as hell.
Make sure both parents are tested and don’t just take their word for it either.
I know the breeder, yes, I am aware of the specifics. The sire’s clearances are well documented
Wait a minute sister, I would have to say they tie with the sweetest, friendliest, most intelligent dog of them all – the Labrador Retriever.
OK I might be willing to admit to a draw there.
BTW we have a Yellow Lab ourselves (I have shared her experience with the deep, dark, drug underworld in comments on a previous post) she’s quirky and we have come to accept that she’s never going to be quite normal (first 2.5 years of her life was in a cage with several other labs from a well known hunting breeder, no socialization and lots of fear issues) but, yes she is extremely sweet.
I had a Black Lab as a kid. Just an amazing and wonderful dog in every way. She was a great barn dog too. When I was showing, she’d lead my horse to the washrack as I carried the buckets and blankets. My horse was a saint too.
Oh my gosh, that’s adorable…
That is really cool.
She was a cool dog. My present dogs don’t have the desire to do that, but they’re still good barn dogs as far as not getting underfoot or bugging the horses. I `barn break’ all my dogs and have been lucky to have tolerant horses for those early days.
I am way to much of a chicken shit to have my dogs and horses together. My house is fenced and crossed fenced. They can see each other but not actually be together. So I miss the cute moment’s you get to experience. I am sad to admit I am a worry wart too. My greyhound breeder made me promise to never put the greyhounds and horse’s together also. She was a horse person as well.
I only let them close to my own horses because I know them and they are used to dogs. It goes both ways because they aren’t allowed to bug other animals. It makes me cringe seeing Amanduh laughing when her puppy is chasing the foals or something. Good way to get your dog’s head kicked in.
What a fun dog
Both are great family dogs.
All of mine made it till at least 11yrs.
That goes for almost every breed. I think it’s important to research what the potential issue are for each breed and if you’re wanting a purebred, go through the breed referral. That’s what I did with my one dog that isn’t a rescue. I did a lot of research and then went through breeder referral and had to get on a waiting list. I don’t plan on ever breeding him, but I wanted him to be as healthy as possible and live a good long life with me.

I have stuff that needs to be done this morning so no long comment…
What a bitch! The End.
Yeah that pretty much sums it up.

Read the post from Michelle saying she wasn’t going to lie and thought, “it’s not April fools day yet.”

That was a donation received from a dog training company. It was not a payment to that company.
And that will be the only thing the village idiots focus on from this entire post. They won’t address anything else.
Thanks for catching that.

I guess it’s taking me awhile to finally put all the pieces of the puzzle together. The pic of the horse that the seller was offering for $700 – the location is the same spot as the pic of the horse that an owner requested euthanasia but was delayed a week during the Louisiana debacle. I tried looking for it and can’t find it, but I’m sure you know which one I mean. So that horse from last year was also in the parking lot at Ontario, which means it was one of the tripper/flippers horses and not a private owner, correct?
I would think so. I believe that black horse was in the Ontario parking lot if I recall his video correctly.
I believe you are thinking of #HiCaliberMarian
That was sickening and especially they way they brushed off that part where they made her wait an extra few weeks before helping her because they were busy flying to Louisiana.
I also should add that the trailer in the background was parked right be HiCailber’s trailer last week at Ontario.
So much to digest here. Poor skinny Braveheart and the lies about him. Sweet looking Sahara. The absurdity of lunging a lame horse on a tight circle in slick puddles. And that precious foal, desperate to suckle while those cruel bitches deny her a mother or at the very least a nurse mare. Too much to process.
Even skinny he’s handsome and a real gem for putting up with all the crap he does. It can’t feel real good to have a big old saddle, not enough padding and over 200 pounds sitting like a brick on an underweight body.
Considering everybody undershoots their weight by a bit and Manson openly admitted to being 245 in that screen shot, that poor horse is likely carrying close to 300lbs when all tacked up . Imagine how those little ones like Aussie felt or the 3yr old TB she test rode not so long ago (PB Horse). That’s not fat shaming, that’s just facts. I don’t sit in doll chairs because I’d break them. Same applies to Manson and those little horses.
Ha! I was so close! I said 260… Well okay, I gave myself wiggle room saying 260 to 300 pounds.
I do get your point though. She should be riding the appropriate horse for both of them to be comfortable. But… She’s a chicken shit and rides the little ones or dopped until staggering.
A 120lb shitty rider with no balance will cause damage. A heavier rider ( if you apply the 20% rule ) with great balance, legs, and seat is not a problem on a bigger ( not taller, and with good conformation ) won’t cause damage.
Michelle’s problem is her I’ll fitting tack, and how she is like a moldy sack of potatoes on a horse. She has no core strength, cannot help the horse by sitting in her frame to hold some of her weight, and relies on her hands way too much.
Long story short – she is a shitty rider with shitty tack and should not be on anything under 1200lbs until she learns how to ride.
I completely agree with all this. For sure some larger riders can ride lighter than a smaller rider with less skill/balance. Amanduh looks to ride heavy too. Beside her piss poor equitation and complete ignorance of the fundamentals like correct lead and diagonal, she moves against a horse rather than with one.
And she’s been rescuing horses for years. You would hope she would have clued in a few years ago. I guess her crates saddle must be magic just like the caution tape.
Everything they do is heavy handed. Excess, gluttony. In her own bio she says she is a self taught city girl. Unfortunately for M she doesn’t have any natural horsemanship skills. Zero. I feel bad for any horse underneath her. From the shrill tone of her voice, to her lack of posture. She is like a shlumpy sheath of skin and fat draped over a skeletal structure. It’s gross really.
I have owned horses since I was 10. My preference is the blue breeds like Arabians. I love the hardiness and the exotic flash of a well dished face and high carried tail with that comes a higher strung horse so I had to learn the hard way both with training dogs and horses that a low tone of voice is the best voice to use. Did M not pay the $40 to learn from Amanduh that tone is everything when handling horses. No horses like a high pitched screechy sound.
It feels as if they equate heavy handedness with authority. I don’t think many of them have a good sense of self thus being abusive makes them feel powerful. I’m no authority on much of anything but I do know what isn’t right and no I’m not always perfect.
None of them seem to take into account these animals have feelings. They have likes, dislikes, they get confused, they get frightened and they most certainly feel pain.
I often hope that these people in their next life are the animals they have taken advantage of and used for personal gain. I hope the feel every single emotion they’ve put these horses through. Then I hope they are rescued and learn about the real love it takes to do the right thing.
I love Arabians! I don’t believe our personalities are suited though.😃
Mine isn’t either. I’m a nervous, anxiety ridden human, so my best bet are grade horse plugs that are about bomb proof as I naturally have an annoying tone of voice.
Are we related? 😃
.
Well, i made my first pass. Usually the longer, ( much appreciated ) blog posts take me a few passes to soak up all the information. Then my own dots seem to connect.
I will say that there is no amount of sage, palo santo, or Florida water out there to cleanse, rid of negative energy of, or protect that property. That place needs a baptism by fire lol.
Onward to read again, and to feed my little sarcasm monster.
My hope is to to see it razed to the ground and the earth salted afterwards, for those of you who get the Supernatural reference. Nothing is ever going to be sufficient to cleanse that property of everything that has taken place on it.
I dunno, I think Michele might be the new Sam Winchester and keep rising from the dead.
LOL well at least he is slightly more attractive and a whole lot less evil.
I don’t know the Supernatural reference D, but it sure worked when Rome salted the ground in Carthage. They never rose again and I would hope the same thing for HiCaliber.
It may have become horribly apparent over the past year that I like ancient history. 😉 Just had to share my response to HC’s overuse of the “village” metaphor:
“Who the heck wants to be a village, bitch? We’re an Empire!”
Now they’re going to accuse you of threatening arson. Apparently wishing a house would fall on Manson is threatening too. Who knew?
I had better things to do today like snatching up the killer sales at Victoria’s Secret with my daughter today, since today is the last day. Making cake pops and getting clothes ready for donation.
The arson will have to wait. I’m busy getting things ready since I’m released back to work for the first week of April. And I’ve heard I’ll be hitting 10 and likely 12 hour days when I do back.
So, if her place burns, it’s not me, I literally dont have the time lol
Yikes, that’s a big shock to go back at full hours . Sucks! I don’t actually want anything to burn down but I wouldn’t mind seeing Manson burn in hell.
Maybe I will quit using the word today like it’s going out of style 😬. I really need to proofread before I hit post lol. I actually love my job, I love working, and hate sitting at home. One car accident 2 years ago has caused 3 elbow surgeries, 6 total procedures. My word of advice now to people is if a car pulls in front of you, into your lane – do not push back against the steering wheel to brace for impact. That’s how tendons get torn off 👍🏻 However now I’m partial to the thoroughbreds with tendon lay ups to help rehab and Home. Everything has its purpose. Nobody wants the facility to burn Miss Manson can go straight to the underworld tho.
Yikes! That’s got to be difficult. It’s neat that you’ve found a calling in helping horses with tendon issues.
Once this is done and the horses dispersed I imagine several areas will be raised to the ground with a bulldozer. The place is absolutely trashed.
And how much of that ground/barn/stalls is disease infested?
I know… Even if some stuff doesn’t live for years in the soil there is so many possibilities of what is lurking or mutating.
I’m sure its no small coincidence that one of the horses she recently shot just happens to have the same name as the wife of a former board member. That’s reason enough for her to shoot a sound horse. Bet she thought that was pretty funny. Sick bitch.
There has been a pattern of her shooting animals named after her perceived enemies.
Geez..following
I can not wait for this shitshow to end. Her ramblings and rants are so ridiculous. Other rescues donations are hurting because of her rabid village idiots going to their pages and commenting or giving 1 ⭐ reviews.
They can change their page settings to stop people from leaving reviews until all of this is over.
The problem with that is when you turn off reviews, once you turn them back on you’ve lost all the reviews you had to start with, both good and bad.
I’ll have to re-read several times to process it all. I will say that horse being lunged is a fucking saint. Move twenty feet to the left and into decent footing please! I don’t trust any behavior or vet assessment they’ve done on any of their adoptable horses. Their ability to assess and handle these guys is a freaking joke.
I was waiting for that horse to slip and take off bucking, dragging the handler through the muck. Sadly disappointed.
The “two horses positive for strangles in the last 18 months” thing is such a crock of shit. She has also said that “only about 10” horses got sick during their last outbreak (December 2016).
I have a little bit of a problem with a comment I read elsewhere saying HiCaliber does have a quarantine area. I’m not sure how that’s possible with that many horses and how they rotate them when they bring new horses in weekly.
I guess I would have made the area where the north and south herds are the quarantine area for horses coming from auction but that still wouldn’t work dragging them home weekly.
Wow. A lot of good info. Hope it wakes some people up. Love what everyone is doing openly and behind the scenes.
Thank you again, Shed. Long read but more facts that should be slapping some sense into more doubters out there. Shout out to the Moles to help document what is actually going on and show proof that the lies continue. Thanks to those that are speaking out publically with first-hand accounts for no other reason then to be the voices for these animals. Hope Michelle and her cohorts are held responsible for what they have done in the name of “rescue”. This can’t end soon enough.
As always, amazing job of gathering hard information and documentation!
This one was hard to read, especially as it was too early on a Monday to do justice to the good advice on multiple servings of adult beverage. How is it that an ACO on the board has not taken Michelle to the woodshed yet, especially on the most horrifying abuse cases taking place at HC ??? I hope that board member is held accountable beyond the rest for gross dereliction of honor and compassion.
Random thoughts –
– “Ripping foals from their mothers.” Has anyone else wondered if Michelle had one of her flippers separate a nearly-newborn foal from its mother, to replace Umbra for cuteness appeal? Rather than wait for one of her flippers to find on that happened naturally. No idea but that question keeps running across my mind. Emlyn sure did the trick with some very cute videos, right after she came. The villagers are uncritical of myriad visual signs that many things are not right with Emlyn’s situation.
– So: The article about the county hearing on HC-
https://www.valleycenter.com/articles/planners-postpone-action-on-hi-caliber/
“Instead, planning group Chairman Oliver Smith and William Del Pilar, who had been assigned the review of the project, said they wanted to postpone action until the ongoing code violations are resolved. “Until they are we can’t even begin to talk about their request for a permit,” said Smith. ”
It sounds as if the county is saying they won’t move further on the permit limiting HC to max 100 horses until HC is down to 100 horses … does that mean that as long as HC is *not* in compliance, they can just keep right on being so indefinitely? No mention of a time limit or consequences of not meeting it? I mean, this sounds like motivation for HC to stay way over the permit number, just so they can continue to be way over the permit number. Maybe 10 years from now when HC is at 300+ horses, the county will be saying they aren’t doing anything more until HC is at 100 ???
– Also re the above article, the Valley Roadrunner calls it “Part I in a series on the Hi-Caliber Rescue operation in Valley Center.”
– At the end of the article, “So, when we begin our tour of this controversy, it won’t be a tip-toe through the tulips, but rather a high speed dance at high through a field of I.E.D.’s. Should be fun. Keep reading. ”
– K, waiting on the next chapters!
– Couldn’t believe the news media missed following up on HC’s Tuesday antics, two weeks running. The reporters are sitting on top of what could be an explosive, eye-grabbing, long-term story, but ONLY if they do the work. This is so much bigger than just a sloppy rescue. Brad Racino does appear to be trying, but is going too much on documents and financials, and not digging into the “middlemen” (as Michelle referred to them). The other outlets seem to want it to land in their laps without any effort on their part beyond a HC guided tour. I find this reluctance to own a huge story to be curious.
– Does the AG’s office follow HC around on Tuesdays, or is that beyond their purview?
I believe the county will eventually start fining them if they are not moving towards compliance. Right now they are in a deficit with their trust account which pays for things to go ahead. I can’t see M willingly topping that up when she’s not even sure how long she’ going to be open for business.
The thing about the media is they have jumped in on a hot story. They haven’t been following this for months and years like many of us have so they don’t know the intricacies of the con game going on. They also aren’t really horse people so they for sure aren’t picking up on anything but the most blatant abuse. The fact that they were set loose on that place with cameras and the one outlet takes a vanity picture of he her house with a horse in the foreground tells me they don’t know what is a problem and what isn’t. Yet another reason I don’t have time for the drive by pieces most of them are doing.
I can’t comment on what goes on on Tuesdays and who is involve.d
VC residents need to keep hammering Code Compliance until they get off their butts, go out unannounced and do a head count of all animals of all species. Code Compliance can’t just sit on their hands and wait for voluntary compliance if there are verifiable complaints.
Code Compliance does not need to call ahead and if they do, they need investigated
The permit process is suspended until they put more money in their trust account. They won’t be putting any resources towards it until that happens. I suspect if they don’t do that in a timely manner and continue to accumulate horses, the fines will start rolling in and I suspect the property owners could be at least partially on the hook for that.
Wouldn’t the fact that they’re bringing more horses in be important to code enforcement?
Depends on what lies are told.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/thevalleycentervoice/
You will find the meeting agenda under March 9th
I have a couple bottle of wine with your name all over them! Keep up the amazing work you’re doing to keep us all informed and bringing so much new info to light!!! If it even reaches one, gets through to them, and helps them see the reality of things then it’s all worth it!
So those filings that are keeping HC from fundraising appear to have still not been filed. In spite of promises that this would be done within less than a week after the letter.
Wondering again, no direct knowledge at all, but thought of these reasons why a CPA would not have produced these already …
– It’s tax season and HiCal’s work is slotted in line among bigger, higher-paying customers. Tax season is in full swing for CPA’s by early February at the latest. That’s the most innocent reason.
– CPA hasn’t been paid, or is concerned about payment, and not moving forward until something they are comfortable with is arranged with HiCal.
– CPA hasn’t received the necessary information from HiCal, possibly because HiCal can’t produce it. Bookkeeper problem? HiCal problem?
— CPA’s don’t work from receipts except in very rare instances, and it is prohibitively expensive to ask them to do so.
— The bookkeeper is the one who enters all the transactions for income and expense and then produces detailed financial statements for the CPA. Bookkeepers tend to work from receipts, invoices etc., reconciled with bank statements. An ethical bookkeeper could hold up the works if said bookkeeper is not comfortable with what is being handed over.
— BUT, if receipts are “lost” for whatever reason, bookkeeper entries can be made based on bank statement line items. Not ideal, but do-able. In addition to transactions that have back-up copies with the provider (including vet bills), there is also the flutter of small-item receipts that may or may not have such back-ups. (I was highly amused when even the village jumped to reassure Michelle that she could get copies of the “stolen” vet receipts from the vets! LOL )
Anyway – no excuse has yet been offered that actually explains why financial statements could not be done for the CPA. Don’t know if financial statements are the hold up, but it must be something. There are different ways of getting to financial statements that will past muster for the purpose, at least temporarily with an updated filing later.
– Anyone find a police report on those “stolen” receipts? With details such as when exactly the theft was noticed, how the break-in was done, how much damage to the truck, etc. & so on? 😉
They sure are quiet today. Great job everyone!
They have very little to say if they aren’t begging for money or attempting to shift the blame.
I’ve actually noticed that if I’m anyway Michelle can explain something away, or has a hint of proof it was fixed, a mistake, or oversight, we are blessed with her live feeds.
When she absolutely cannot bs her way out of something, she refuses to feed the haters and won’t fuel the drama. She goes off the grid and lays low when she says she’s taking the high road 😂
So, now I know the more quiet she is, the more she just was exposed!
Absolutely. On top of that, though, she KNOWS she is being watched and that flippant replies are going to come back to bite her in the ass. She now has to take time to think of a response in a way that she can claim was rectified, and all of this takes time.
She may even claim that the pug was one of the times she borrowed against the loan that she provided, figuring that the villagers won’t have access to anything that refutes the story.
But we know, M. We know the truth, and so do the authorities. You can explain it to the villagers, but you can’t explain it to them.
M is a total nut case and I knew that years ago, before anyone started posting suspicions . I talked to her on several occasions and thought she was a fraud, that her motivation was a free ride on the back of theses horses, pun intended, I watched quietly and when she sent Sully/Willy to Sale ranch I finally had a shred of proof of my suspicions….I tried to believe she was actually doing some good, but her weekly auction trips made it impossible for me to believe she had any good intentions . I am in every horse neighborhood in California almost daily, I come across so many horses in need that the owners would gladly relinquish if there was a rescue that would take them, the need to attend the auction weekly is just a platform to reach the bleeding hearts , to show them a horrific scene that pulls at their hearts and puts an urgency to the need for money to “save” these horses. It is so very sad that the bleeding hearts can’t seem to feel the urgency to come up with funds for the owner relinquished horses, they are many times the same horses that the owner would have gladly handed over free of charge…I myself have picked up 100″s of these type of horses over the years, most have turned out to be fine horses just in need of some tlc and or training.
The sad truth is that the uninformed bleeding hearts continue to create the M’s of this world, they are naive and believe that theses people are saviors and by into the dramatic please and teary manipulation,If we find a way to educated the bleeding hearts, to explain that the owner surrender is in as desperate need of saving as the auction horse, if there was not market at the auctions for theses abused and neglected horses then maybe it would slow if not stop…Before M started attending that auction, there really were almost never a horse there and for sure none like those she buys in the parking lot, it seems as though the sellers are creating the injured starved horses just to sell to M…it is a vicious cycle. And truly sad that theses barbarians could stoop as low as to intentionally injure and starve horse just to make a few hundred bucks a week.It would seem that Misner considered it just one more stream of income added to his already lucrative business, but Nacho, Jose’ and Salvador seem to be the lowest form of bottom feeders encouraged to continue their mission by M.
IMO The problem with trying to educate those hardcore villagers is that they aren’t really there for the animals welfare. Maybe in the beginning, but not now.
Michelle invited viewers into her life, the ranch life, parties, life/death auction saves via constant online presence. She was the rebel with no boundaries living the life that a lot of these people wished they lived. She brings out the bad girl in the wanna be bad girls and she knows it.
I think the rest either never closely followed HiCaliber, because who really has time or desire to watch all the seemingly endless videos; or read the endless comments (unless your Cindy, Larkin, Adrianne or an emoji turd)?
The remainder have their livihood hitched to her wagon, in one form or another.
If only M had taken the time to improve theses horses with vet care, feed and training, she could actually have a positive cash flow from the adoption fees, but laziness and greed have taken the place of integrity and compassion.
I don’t think Michelle or any of the other “trainers” at the ranch are capable of producing an improved horse. On top of that, the horses have sat untouched and lost so much muscle mass for so long that many have developed lameness issues on top of behavioral and assorted other health problems.
Strictly my un-qualified opinion: Michelle will never willingly give up the HiCaliber gig. From her point of view, what else would she do? She has nowhere to go but down. Way, way, way down.
At a ‘regular job’ the pay won’t be great, there are work hours, the job tasks are dictated by others and supervision is reinforced constantly. The lifestyle will be a sad fraction of what she enjoys with HC.
The only thing that would get her out of there voluntarily and smoothly is another gig just as good as HC, only better, from her point of view.
Reality may be closing in on her in a certain sense, but guessing she will fight however she can to hang on. If something does manage to spook her out of there, it could be very scary. Don’t know how a watch could be put on that possibility.
Just imo.
Many of us have the same thoughts . She’s not going to go easily and she’ll take as many down with her as possible.
Let her go back to working the bars and selling her panties online.
That is so nasty. What was her panty name? Monique Gallindo or something?
The crazy thing is that if she had done the job properly as a real rescue, she could have been there for the rest of her life, maybe. She drove this thing into a brick wall herself. It was never the ‘haters’, they are nothing but bystanders with comments in the end calculation. (OK and documentation – the moles are so cool !!!)
But it seems that most good rescues cost the operators more than they bring in. In HC’s case that would have been hard to overcome. Any time there is a little extra, the next horse crisis will burn right through it. It has to be done for the love and satisfaction of helping a horse. 🙂
It’s been a pleasure to see some glimpses of good rescues at work in this blog. My hat is off to them. 🙂
Sadly, a large part of rescue is knowing your limits. The limits in what you can handle financially, physically and emotionally. The limits of your own knowledge and skill set. It’s also learning to say `no’ and being able to network with others fir the greater good of all animals. Being edgy isn’t about having a vulgar mouth and and thumbing your nose at people that know better. Some things aren’t done because people have been there, done that and realized it didn’t work. There is no room for ego when you work with horses either. If anything, Manson is a lesson on how to let your own bloated ego ruin a good thing. She has had some extremely good and knowledgeable people as volunteers adn board member and one by one she’s pissed them all off and drove them away until she’s left standing with Amanduh and Wrinkles? What is their horse experience? Amanduh was on a 4H quiz team and Wrinkles probably hat Breyers or something.
HiCaliber could have been a really good thing as it was intended. She didn’t need to lie and grift to tug at heart strings either. She just forgot that she wasn’t the star of the show somewhere along the line.
I find those pictures of Braveheart to be disgusting. Poor guy, definitely not thriving, stuck in a small pen without shelter from the looks of it. SoCal’s gonna get hammered with a doozy of a “March miracle” storm soon, and he’s going to take the brunt of it, from the looks of things.
I don’t really like rain much myself (I know we need it, but could it rain everywhere except on my corrals?) but hell, my horses aren’t having to stand out in the worst of it without their rain sheets or a shelter, which are raised so they aren’t standing in mud (now if they choose to hang out in a downpour instead of staying under the shelters with the shavings and mats, who am I to judge)
Maybe he can be stuffed in the chicken coop with Barry Boi and various and sundry dying animals being pecked at by the chickens.
I wonder if there has been another organization aka 501 opened up under any of the cronies names recently…… my black little heart read truckload of horses, no long winded introduction, or “donated horses” for HiKill and immediately thought “Yep. Here comes the beginning of her exit strategy. Is she squirreling them away for a rainy day fund?” I dislike being so cynical and automatically looking for how this bunch are going to keep milking this recuse for all they can. Please let me be wrong. 😦 Stolen items…. Hmmm if it’s stolen it can’t be used as evidence. Right? I have to wonder if they think because they have items missing they won’t be considered valid in any investigation. I think my IQ has dropped several points since I started following HiKill and the horde of sponges it has supported.
Well there’s Nightingale Horses that Cristina Pagan is trying to kick start. Cristina manages HC’s private buyer’s.
No idea if there’s any connection other than the obvious. Seems odd(ish) that Michelle wouldn’t see that as competition for donors though.
Cristina has been trying to get somebody to pay her rent with that kick starter for awhile again. I’m sure it will be another place for M to offload horses if she ever does get up and running.
Ugh! That biznatch is up in my area. That’s all we’d need. HiKill Lite. I’ve seen her Kickstarter, pretty sick trying to use Thomas Fire horses as her selling point.
Is she in Ventura County?
She’s also the one that made a serious physical threat against Robin after that auction confrontation.
I see they’ve put Emlyn in with Eclipse to try, I guess. They needed a feel good story.🙄
Until Eclipse kicks the shit out of her…
I mean, they were sooooo concerned that this mare who is missing a baby would harm the baby, but it’s okay to put a different mare in with her. QT? Screw QT. We aren’t sure why Umbra died, but let’s just put the mare that was with that foal, with this new one. Sorry “PB”..
I find their lack of Emlyn updates worrisome. Given how shitty Magnum looks these days I’m sure Emlyn will be even worse if she makes it.
I Hate that things are taking so long. That horses continue to suffer and be dragged back to that ranch to an unknown fate. That she’s still allowed within 100 yards of a horse! It is infuriating!
I know the wheels of justice are moving slowly, but they need to hurry up!
On a hilarious note, Mazza is trying so hard to get back into the good graces of the hikill people that she’s looking legitimately insane, yelling and swearing at people while claiming to be against hate. Her Discussion Group is Poop-lite and the poop page is being quoted as facts.
Mazza is a good match for HiCaliber.
Agreed. The best part is that the people whose butts she has her lips superglued to, are the same people that bashed her to no end when they left D the first time.
But if the poop page only regurgitates what shedrow and the HG says, then wouldn’t that mean shed and HG are right? : )
What the shitheads do on the poop page is none of my concern.
Shh! Don’t apply logic here! You’ll ruin their little perception of reality!
Thanks to all, Shed, D, and Moles for peeling back yet another evil layer of what is HiCaliber.
“One of her favorite whines lately is to say that she doesn’t think we, meaning the haters, meant for things to get this far.”
Oh M…We’re just getting started.
I’m at the point where I’ve run out of things to say that aren’t a string of curses when it comes to M and her flock of harpies. I’m just eagerly awaiting the day that these animals finally get their true freedom walk as far away from that place as possible.
I know you’ve heard it hundreds of times by this point, but thank you and everyone behind the scenes for all of the hard work and dedication you’ve poured into this. I know it’s mentally and physically exhausting to do this, and you’ve all earned yourselves a nice vacation and a lot of wine/beer after this. If any of you ever visit the East coast, I’ll buy you a Starbucks…with non-embezzled funds. 😉
That one has been cracking me up too! (And now been added to the HC drinking game list as well). But yeah….um, sorry M but this was entirely the point the whole time, stopping you from exploiting, neglecting and killing horses that shouldn’t be dead.
And all her whining to other rescues about how “they’re coming for you next, you do one thing they don’t like…. blah blah blah.” It was not “one decision” that made people scrutinize her business and try to interfere on behalf of suffering animals, and it won’t just happen to any old rescue because, surprise, some of them actually do good work, take care of their horses, post their receipts and update their donors. Crazy how that works isn’t it?
I sometimes can’t figure out whether she’s a master manipulator or delusional and believes her own lies? Maybe it’s some kind of weird combination of both by this stage. Either way, it’s pretty unbelievable the things HC supporters are willing to overlook!
As long as the animals are being well cared for, they aren’t enabling abusers and spreading misinformation about slaughter, I don’t really care what another rescue gets up to. I’m not the rescue police. You are 100% correct that it as far from just one thing. It was an avalanche of things and escalating behavior that caused me to speak out. From Fallen, to the Slaughter 11 con, Snugglesgate and everything in between.
If every rescue had the hammer brought down upon them for doing “one thing they don’t like”, we wouldn’t have any rescues. M needs to Google “lingchi” if she wants to understand why things have progressed to the point they’re at now.
As for their supporters…all I can say is that you can lead a person to knowledge but you can’t make them think.
I totally had to google that LOL.
I can absolutely state with 100% certainty that I meant for this to get this far and as of yet it has not gone as far as I hope it will in the future.
I second that.
I’d hate for anyone to be mistaken about my intentions so I thought I would put that out there.
😀
Sometimes I wonder if she is purposely blaming the other rescues for her current situation to keep them from reading here and discovering the truth.
Could be, but some of the VI’s seem to be the time that have to be right.
It boggles my mind that people still defend HiKill When someone commented about the dead goat, the next poster remarked, “Oh she wasn’t expected to live”.
They VI’s have been conditioned to all the dying animals as a normal thing.
Even if they thought she wouldn’t live does that mean it was ok for Manson to perform her veterinary experiments and cause her even more suffering? Does that means it was no biggie that the chickens were pecking at her open wounds as she lay dying? FUCK those people. Seriously.
That seriously broke me. I mean, it’s all terrible but I actually had nightmares about that post. Fucking bitch. Sorry not sorry for the language. I mean, it’s got to be near impossible for you to even keep up with the cruelty there.
I can’t imagine the poor volunteer that came across that sight. I also can’t even begin to fathom how anybody think that’s no big deal.
I feel sorry for your mole too. It must be killing them not to kick their asses.
The moles all believe in what what we are trying to accomplish and see the greater good. As hard as that is for them to be up close and personal with the abuse, they know they’re saving countless other from the same ate.
Huge kudos to the stealth moles. When this is over, I’m sending some wine or hard liquor! I appreciate their hard work.
We all do. So many good and caring people have come together for this effort with only the welfare of those animals in mind. Truly grateful and honored to collaborate with them every single day.
Her whole selling point on being the angel off death is giving the horses a safe place to land – and somewhere to pass knowing love.
Well she’s right up there with delivering that about as well as Ed Gein and JW Gacy. 👍🏻
Granny Goat makes me sick. Pneumonia can be effectively treated with a vet Rx, fortified B vitamin injections, and a draft free stall. I’ve saved a few goats that we’re given to me because they were considered “goners”. I’m sorry, Granny ☹️
I don’t know much about udders but that looked pretty bad. Is that something that can heal well with appropriate care?
Don’t you have a pair of your own? Imagine how that would feel like on your own udders!
Finally after gaining another 40 pounds I have udders. Much to my regret. I just don’t know if that once it gets to that point it’s treatable.
I breast fed and didn’t think it was nearly the bonding experience some mothers feel. Thank God for lanolin and nipple shields.
Thank God mine are for recreational purposed only. I can’t imagine having somebody hanging off them. 😦
Lol! Growing up I wished my fun bags were a bit bigger now I wish a lot of spots hadn’t ballooned up.
It was so advanced. It’s a shame to think of her being discarded like trash at the auction, and then her final days were in filth and pain. Michelle did nothing right by that poor soul – she profited and that was all. Even in death the goat was treated like trash.
Don’t forget the other goat that could only put weight on 3 legs. She’s allegedly still hobbling around that farm too.
So many of those animals are. It’s beyond understanding. She doesn’t seem to treat people any better.
The udder was blown and necrotic but as long as the infection didn’t go systemic, the udder can be removed via surgery. Yes, I’m fully aware that HiCal would not have spent the money to save the goat. Granny was a means for the witches to make money and she suffered for it ☹️
I agree with your medical assessment of the situation as well as M’s intentions but I do have a question about female goats/milking.
I know absolutely nothing about goats, I admit, so I would appreciate anyone’s goat-centric knowledge. My honey and I have debated bringing home at least a couple to help clear our property. It is my understanding that the female goats would require milking, so we decided that when it happens, we will bring home a couple of wethers.
If we brought home females that have had no “kids,” is there any chance that they would begin producing milk?
This ties into HiC because I am wondering how many of them would actually milk a goat, and possible health ramifications if they did not.
I’m pretty sure that you’re safe with open/unbred goats. If you get pygmies don’t let them near your vehicles!
LOL we actually discussed this years ago and he approved..until I told him that they may very well jump on his new Camaro at the time, which was his pride and joy. Then I was given an abrupt “NO!” It is now a work in progress.
I’m going to interject here and ask:
Is a goat better for weeds or a sheep? I keep getting mixed answers. If goats are better what kind? I was also told that in order for them to eat the “weeds” I shouldn’t feed them 🤷♀️. Or one you kindly people could point me to a forum or FB page, please. Lol
If you wanted to bring goats home you can just have them spayed. Large animal vets do this not a big deal.
I keep thinking I missed this whole granny goat thing. Where can I read it?
Here ya go.
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2013696675558843&id=100007555906078
Thank you!
D, you have to breed them for them to produce milk. If you decide on wethers, make sure to read up on urinary calculi.
Thanks, Mary. We won’t bring any home until I am sure that I have the necessary knowledge (I haven’t had time to study up on it with all of this so we haven’t done it) to provide the best care, as well as vets who are familiar with goats to help guide me through the goat owning process.
I just wondered, after seeing Granny goat and her curdled milk, that I am sure M will end up bringing home a milk producing goat and who is going to help relieve that pressure? I’m not sure that any of them are even that knowledgeable.
A female goat has to be bred in order for it to produce milk, so you’re good as long as your does haven’t been with a buck.
I hope your goats are less picky than mine 😁 Unless it’s high end alfalfa hay, my freshly planted roses, or Timothy hay, my girls turn their noses up at it. Silly goats 🐐♥️
Nooo, don’t tell me that! LOL!
I used to pay to have alfalfa brought in from Ohio for my horse, as the Carolinas don’t produce a lot of alfalfa due to humidity/insects-I don’t want to bring home a goat that will only eat hay at 16.50 a bale! ROFL!
There was a trick to getting him to agree to this, of course.
I started out by showing him videos of someone’s cute pet rat, and then remarking that someday maybe I would bring home a pet rat, as I was pretty sure that I could manage its care (he hates mice and rats). Then I showed him a few more videos, and intimated that I would look into it, until finally he burst out and stated that he would rather have a goat than a rat. Of course I then pounced on that statement and told him that I would be holding him to his word.
LOL!!!
@formerlyD, a lady I know has 2 goats and 1 mini donk and she said they don’t cut her grass very well, or eat weeds at all because they are too picky. She said she rented sheep once and they were much more complacent about what they ate. They cleaned up the weeds very well. So maybe consider a couple of ewes? All things considered, goats and sheep are both stinking cute, so I would have trouble choosing. (and yes please to a mini donk as well!)
I should have kept reading, lol. But any info I can be pointed to would be much appreciated.
@4horses, the granny goat story was posted by Leah (former volunteer that was interviewed by the Brad reporter guy) on her facebook page and I think in some of the various groups. M performed surgery basically (debrided the poor goat’s infected udder) then left her (the goat) in the chicken coop so the chickens could peck at her while she died. It is horrifying, and it made me really cry. There are a couple of pictures so if you’re easily broken by this shit like I am, I wouldn’t recommend looking at the pics. Just the post really got to me. M is HORRIBLE.
Leah shared the story but, it was actually Vicki Bautista that put it out.
Another volunteer that was there for the animals
Just trying to figure out where I can read it.
4H are you on Facebook? It’s been making the rounds, and it doesn’t get any less horrific every time I see it.
Yes thankyou, I saw it it’s horrific.
Thanks for clarifying RRR.
Thanks OG, so this story is on a Shedrow post?
You’ll have to click the screen shot in the middle of the page that link takes you to. It tells the story.
@4horses, here’s the link someone posted: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2013696675558843&id=100007555906078
Many thanks! 😁
The fact that she CONTINUOUSLY refers to herself as an angel of death is so beyond disgusting. I doubt Webster’s has a word so repugnant within its pages that fits.
following
I know this is just a minor annoyance in a long list of horrible things that HiCaliber as a whole is doing, but these insanely priced “lessons” from Copper HART just drive me insane.
Given the amount of work many of those volunteers are putting in, they should be taught saddle fit, horse anatomy and even given some basic riding lessons for free (assuming, that is, there was anyone left there even qualified to give such instruction. Which I’m sure there is not).
I agree… Expecting volunteers to work for free and line someones pockets is wrong.
I’ve always thought it was horse pucky for HiCaliber to say that a person must volunteer for 40 hours and take a horse handling class before you can touch a horse. I think at one point there was a fee for that class but don’t quote me. What’s wrong with a buddy program?
What’s wrong with the people that live on that ranch for free getting off their asses and doing some of those chores and supervising? I think it’s laughable that there were likely many volunteers that could have taught all them lessons on horse handling and riding that had to take their bullshit classes.
Yeah well, I guess the best way to get a hold of Manson was to message her even if you were on sight.
UGH! That’s the thing that really gets me. All those personal horses showing up on the feed list for the volunteers to bust their asses taking care of.
That shit bothers me too.
Or the ones fund raised for not getting fed…
There’s so much that bothers me when someone asks why I dislike them so much, my answer becomes a friggin novel.
I can’t pick just one thing… Your right it’s many. I think one of the things that really bothered me is how they label and misrepresent the horses to the volunteers. Like the TB’s that are used to being out and doing now they’re in a small stall. So what happens? They get bored and a little naughty. Do they get out? No they get some red tape and big letters “BITES” so now they’re really getting ignored.
I wonder if Amanduh teaches them how to kick the shit out of horses that can’t figure out what you want from them and beat them with the business end of a chain shank.
Sounds like many of the former volunteers knew way more than Amanduh. Gosh that name fits her.
It’s amazing how the inner circle at HC can scrub comments they don’t like within minutes and have time for live feeds dragging on for over an hour, but somehow they are too busy to give a one sentence reply to their donors who are begging to know if things worked out between Eclipse and Emelyn?
Yet they are confused why they are bleeding supporters? One of their own “villagers” (I hate even saying that word) said herself how she was feeling disconnected not hearing about the horses. They have cut their own throats with the way they operate. When people start realizing that the horses they invested in emotionally are now dead without a word, even die-hard followers sometimes manage to put the pieces together and start to have questions…
If they don’t have Eclipse and Emelyn splashed all over the page as a huge success it makes me worry.
Probably saving it for an algorithm bump.
I supported HiCaliber beginning in 2016, and it is weird when I think how much it has changed. Your comment really struck me. I remember writing to HiCaliber on FB Messenger, sharing that I was disappointed because they hadn’t given the supporters any updates about the new horses they had brought back to the ranch and that I was worrying about a horse that might already have been euthanized (there was a particularly injured horse that week). This was when every Wednesday involved watching the vets assess all the horses that came in on Tuesday. Michelle’s answer was incredible kind. She apologized for the delay and promised to communicate better about the horses, and for quite a while, she did. There was no EAD. And that was the turning point for me, when they got so paranoid about the “haters” that they started treating their supporters like each one was an enemy about to turn. What I think now is that their collective guilt about failing on their mission to help horses turned them into the vindictive, abrasive people we see now. When I suddenly couldn’t ask about a horse without being labeled a hater… that changed things for me. When I couldn’t emotionally connect to another horse because I no longer trusted HiCaliber to do right by them. I still have pictures of Joplin on my computer. Such a stunningly beautiful horse that should have found a home, if not for being turned out and forgotten and then shot because they weren’t willing to give her the care she needed. Then I went looking for what the big deal was with Shedrow. What I found is that others were seeing the changes that I had seen, only the changes were much worse than I knew. I have followed this blog ever since. Thanks for all you have done to bring these horrible things to light. Hopefully, we are close to the end of at least having to worry so much about the horses. And seriously, why did they even ask what horses people wanted updates on (because people who donate for these horses REALLY want to know about them, and that doesn’t make them haters), when they clearly aren’t providing anything about them? They won’t even update about whether that mare accepted the foal. You’d think they would at least try some damage control over there and that doesn’t cost them anything, just a few updates.
M’s stubborn nature is proving to be her undoing. Just because one of her volunteers dared to do a guest post that meant that never again would she give an update on Dragon. He’s still there, but rather than tell people the results of the diagnostics they paid for and maybe promote the horse so he could get out and get a home, she just has him wasting away until it’s his turn to get shot. So many horse she drags home are never heard from again. How about Fuego, Dochas, Brady’s Cat, Shipp, Petty? The list goes on and on of horses that just get thrown into the herds or pens and there they sit until I get a notice they have been shot in the face for whatever reason and do a post. Most of the time they pass at HiCaliber without a single mention. Do many people other than the volunteers at the ranch even remember Sahara? I hate that you can’t take anything M says at face value. You always have to pick around for the actual truth or agenda. She didn’t update Eclipse and Emlyn today? Well that means the mare didn’t like her or she’s saving it for a damage control/algorithm post. She won’t allow people to care about certain horses and engage because she is not anybody’s bitch.
You also have to factor in that even more so than becoming abrasive because of supposed haters, M discovers that yelling and screaming at people and telling them to EAD also occurs when people are not going to like the answer she provides, whether it be strangles or “the horse is dead.”
Then she excuses her response a little bit later, and in many times I watch the people never bring up the horse again, so by doing so she managed to deflect the situation away from the animal in question.
Joplin was something of a turning point for me as well 😦
This is infuriating. I can’t imagine what goes on in M’s house that (thankfully!!) she doesn’t broadcast. Someone should take the dog away from that family. I’m so sorry horses, I’m so sorry little pug and I’m so sorry for any living thing that crosses that family’s path.
I have been reading and following this blog for months. To all of you who have given the animals voices, thank you. Granny goat touches the very core of my heart. I have raised and loved Dairy Goats for about 35 years. I am now down to one old doe who is the last of my herd. That poor doe that she so thoughtlessly brought home to suffer and die. She looks like she had Pink Eye, that was not treated, and therefore ended up with blindness. Very easy to treat if taken care of right away. Her mastitis was not treated properly, and so she ended up losing her udder to untreated, or not treated with the right antibiotic. The upper respiratory infection was probably a combination of all her problems. Goats are very prone to upper respiratory. It makes me sick, to think that she was so callously thrown away to suffer and die. She should have been humanely euthanized. To put her through digging into her udder to remove her necrotic tissue and milk, beyond sick. I have watched and read about the needless suffering of all these many animals, and I am just sick.
I love horses above all else but the non-equine animals she drags home almost have it worse because hardly anybody asks after them and she never gets a proper large animal vet out to see them. An equine repro vet doesn’t cut it but even he told her to euthanize that poor goat. Granny, Kevin, Blake, and all the rest of them were pretty much tortured. If legends are to be believed, I don’t think there is a snowball’s chance in hell that Manson will ever sneak across the rainbow bridge when her number is up. Hope she likes hot weather…
Waking up one at a time
A post from Hikill
Please tell me it isn’t true that a pug was bought, using donated funds, I helped buy hay for you with my hard earned money, that would be a hell of a thank you…
I am floored by this as well. Where exactly was this question, and was it then scrubbed?
It’s on the post asking for updates and it’s still there.
And it’s gone. I’ll bet that former villager is pissed. It was up there for many hours though so hoping there were lots that saw it.
When it does come, whoever Michelle takes down with her in the great crash, I hope the local Animal Control goes down hard alongside her. Probably they won’t, but I don’t understand how the locals aren’t outraged at their total ineptness. I hope all of the instances of cruelty are brought out to the public (more every week). And, of course, Michelle herself is to at least some degree a product of that AC office.
If we have to have media involvement, I wish they would cover things like that. There is a bigger story here about corruption and looking the other way. That would be a story worth exposing.
Amen.
